Memories

Several times I have considered writing something for this Forum, but would always change my mind. Having read what bacchus, mlg and mack have been writing, I see a "mutual admiration society" there. It is good for Christians to express to others their feelings; many times we hold them inside.
Since arriving on the scene in 2005, I have met many new friends at the Oasis. Became close to some; lost a couple to death; was hurt by two individuals whom I deemed to be my friends, but life goes on. Those 2 people taught me to be careful with whom I share personal information and private thoughts. (Didn't heed the words of Brandon...from the beginning he warned me.)
When I first became involved with the Oasis, I spent my nights sitting in front of the computer ... hoping for folks to drop in. There are a couple who are still active here that I met late at night when they were searching for a life-line. Many hours we would talk, actually they did most of the talking, I was the Christian ear they were seeking. Someone to whom they could open up to. I thank our Father for the friendships that I have cultivated over the years....all from reaching out to those souls who were reaching out. No need for me to type the names; they know who they are.
And you know what? Those who hurt me will answer to a higher power. I am stronger because of the pain they inflicted on me. From the very beginning, the resounding theme of Oasis has been TRUTH. May we all adhere to that.
Now I shall hop off the soapbox, grab my shiny red broom and zooooom out of here. (Just wish Mimi were here to ride double. I miss that lady. She was so very special. And she loved that ole GA boy known to us as Bacchus.) I hear "Blue Bayou".....Mimi directing a heavenly choir to remind us she is waiting for us on the other side.
