Mine was quiet, everyone here was sicky so we all got up a bit late. But it was very peaceful. Just the way I like it. My mom cooked indian food. Spent some of the day here at the oasis, enjoyed the programs and fellowship, and had some family and kiddoes over later in the evening and night.

My niece went nuts over a water globe i got her. It has a lil figurine of Noah in it, with two monkeys and two doves, and it plays Ode to Joy, with a scripture verse from Genesis on the base. I have set my rainbow in the clouds Genesis 9:13 So pretty.

We spent the last couple hours of the day looking at Where The Wild Things Are, rather strange kid-movie, but my niece managed to find some giggles in there *dunno* but her giggles are so contagious lol , and then i got to hop into chat for the final program which was awesome as we were able to give praise to our loving and merciful God. *Pray*

Still cant believe how fast this week flew.

Am thankful for my friends and family, here and at home. Very blessed am I.

So how was your Christmas? What did ya do? :)

Love to you all *GroupHug*

My Christmas was quite. I spent some time with my children and family. Then On Christmas Day I spent time with just my mom, stepdad, sisters, brother in law and my girlfriend. We opened gifts and chated for a while. My brother in law wraped my gift in four different boxes. It went from big boxes to small boxes and then finally I got to the gift. The rest of the time I just sat around and stayed warm. The weather here got bad with ice covered roads so there was no going out. All in all it was an ok Christmas.

Hello Lizzie *hug*

My Christmas was very nice. This year the indoor lights -- those tiny white lights -- captivated me, more so than any other previous year. It was as if those lights represented how my heart feels about Him -- kinda hard to explain, but it was warm and loving.

This year we changed a couple traditions:

-- normally we would go to hubby's sister's house on Christmas Eve. This year she came here and along with our daughter and her boyfriend we shared a yummy meal and sweet conversation.

-- this year our daughter's boyfriend stayed over Christmas Eve, and then joined us Christmas morning for gift exchange and breakfast. It was great to have him here, along with our daughter, my parents and hubby and me.

-- my favorite worldly gifts: wooden toaster tongs from my daughter. I had been wanting these for a while. :) It's kinda funny how everyone loves to get the toast now -- using the tongs. Small pleasures. Another gift from my daughter and her boyfriend: a decorative cardboard box with the scripture Philippians 4:13 written on it. It's the perfect size to store various Bible studies I've printed out and refer to quite often -- especially the COOL End Times Study.

-- Christmas dinner was shared with hubby, my parents and me. It was quiet and quite yummy.

-- the day was more about Him than previous Christmas celebrations. More time to reflect on Him, as it should be. Peaceful.

What I have found is that over the years certain traditions have changed as the family dynamics change. Change can be very good, especially when it is done to include and welcome others.

God bless you.
Love,
Mack

@blue: thats funny about the boxes lol he shoulda wrapped it in 50 rofl but thats a good plan to keep in mind for next christmas lol

@mack: i hear ya on the lights. I had to take mine down this week and i was so sad :( tho i still have my tree up and wreath lol might haveta remove em this weekend tho :(

I know what u mean about change, and our Christmas has gotten so quiet over the years, with the passing of family members, those who have migrated, those who have started their own family etc. But i like it nice and quiet too :)

P.S. I had NO idea toaster tongs existed! gonna google that right now lol

Love u folks and GBU
