From Anger to Praising God

Postby Show Forth the Praises » Wed Apr 02, 2008 12:13 am

During an especially bad time of my being abused and neglected by my Mom, I and my older brother were taken from my Mom by the authorities and placed in a shelter for abused children. I was just six months old. My brother and I stayed with our grandmother in St. Louis.

Court-ordered AA meetings three times a week was where my Mom met and later married, my stepfather. He had lust for little girls, it turned out.

From age two to ten, my stepfather told me my Mom would blame me if I told her what he was doing. I kept my enraged silence. He was right about her reaction to the news of his crimes.

My brother committed suicide when he was 20, and I was 9. For me, there could be no greater loss than Gerald Morrow Phillips.

God spared my life twice from two suicide attempts at age 25 and 30. Both times, I was hearing voices commanding me that dying was best for me.

God saved me when I was 17 at a Campus Life Youth for Christ rally.

At age 25, I was diagnosed with a chronic, severe mental illness. Praise God---I have been in remission for 12 consecutive years.

God gave me a wonderful church family nearly five years ago---part of the Calvary Chapel churches. There, I receive excellent teaching.

May I live to show forth His praises.

Showforth my sis *hug*

What a delight it has been to be able to meet u :)

And what a wonderful testimony.

This part really stuck out to me

Both times, I was hearing voices commanding me that dying was best for me.

I thank the Lord that His still small voice, overpowered the voices of the enemy and his dark forces and led u out of that lie.

May He continue to lead u into truth and light.

God bless you always dear sis *hug*
