I have Diabetes.
In February of 2009 I was told I have diabetes, six months later, in August, I was laid off from my job and have not found a job yet. The scary part is I have no health insurance. Some people I've talked to feel uncomfortable about me considering the health insurance part of welfare and I can not afford regular health insurance but I do need insurance. Any suggestion would be helpful. Thank you ahead of time for the suggestions.

Hello Freebie,
God bless you this day.
You said:
Freebie, we mere mortals can be so odd at times. So what does one do when they've lost their job and they need medical care? Freebie, apply for the assistance.
I suggest that those that feel "uncomfortable" about you considering welfare assistance for medical treatment, are either reflecting a deep seeded fear within themselves -- fear of "what if I get to a point I cannot work or lose my insurance?", OR they have bought into the popular "worldly" opinion that anyone needing public assistance is lazy.
Shame on them.
Don't receive their fear, nor their "worldly" judgment -- whatever the case may be.
Freebie, get the financial assistance that you need for proper medical treatment, and seek God with your whole heart. Jesus loves you, and He died for you. Receive Christ Jesus as your Saviour -- "assurance" of an eternal life with Him.
Prayers are going up for you, Freebie -- prayers to our Lord, in the name of Christ Jesus. God's blessed will be done.
May God bless and keep you.
In Jesus' name,
Sister Mack

Totally agree with what Mack said! Great advice!
The welfare system was created for people that have a need ... and Freebie sister ... you have a serious need. I think another reason why people are "uncomfortable" with welfare is the known knowledge that people take advantage of it--BUT, THAT'S NOT YOU! You need this for this season. You and your well-being is what matters.
I'm praying for you, sister. I don't know if you are looking for a job, but I pray that the Lord will prepare a place for you where there are benefits that can help with your physical ailments.
*hugs*
