So I am reading daily reading pertaining to Advent... which are about Jesus' coming and his returning..prophencies..and today was luke 1:18-25 where God sends and angel to tell Zacharias he is going to have a child, John the Baptist. In this portion "Z" does not believe it and is struck dumb BUT when he comes back out among the people, they can see he has been with God.
At first I did not see any personal application/observation but then pondering it I did. We do not encounter the Lord, either personally or by way of one of his messengers and remain unchanged. In fact, just as the people could tell that Zacharias had encountered God in some way, so can it be evident when we have “been with” the Lord. We are changed. It is noticeable.

There are also consequences to not trusting in and believing God. if nothing else, we lose an intangible but at the same time tangible peace.

Also we see that God gave Elizabeth when he " looked on me, to take away my reproach among people.”. What a lovely reminder of the tender caring that our Abba has for each of us.
So for me, if I can trust lean and rely solely on God and his direction during this season...maybe others will see God even when I can't quite trust fully. And maybe I can choose to trust God and entrust myself more fully to his care.
They i went and wrote this:
It was for Peace I came.
The world did not receive Me,
Hence the world did not receive My Peace.

The peace I offer is a heart peace,
A freedom peace,
Freedom from worry and cares,
Freedom from having to do things in your own strength.

This is a peace so different than that which is generally thought to be “peace”.
It is not absence of troubles, or even strife.
It is peace and freedom even when there ARE troubles and strife.

It is a heart, mind, body and soul peace,
Which does not require inactivity,
Yet comes from being “at rest” in My loving care and provision.

Yes, even during those storms of life.
It is a peace that comes from knowing and trusting Me,
So that you can entrust all that is you to My care.
No matter what.

Maybe who knows... but i need more in the hope department, maybe not hope that things will change but that i can be changed...

And... it is now 2016....and the past year has been interesting...especially since Jan....several hospital times, and last fall as well... right now he is living in a rehab and has for 3 months...it is like God prepared me gradually for being home alone...at first I was nervous at night...I would go into the bedroom at dark and lock the door and not exit at all...but now I don't mind and even enjoy the freedom of being home alone...however lately some teen has played ding-dong-ditch with my doorbell and I pray that stops soon...he is theoretically slated to remain where he is for long term care...but he of course wants out of there and back home, but I am too old and have arithitus so can't really help him enough...it is difficult... God is God and loves us and is on the throne.. there are things i miss about our old life and other things i don't miss... Have become very dependent on God for a lot of stuff which is good. have learned a lot too :) Shalom

I am so very pleased this topic has been revived ... It has been an inspiration to many.

Despite the trials and tribulation ... God STILL uses you to inspire HOPE for those enduring similar trials.

Finish the race.

I am learning afresh who I am. Never realized till recently that all our life, I ate mostly what my husband liked. He likes BBQ or Seafood. I don't even know what I really like. I might like seafood, I might not. I might like BBQ I might not. I know I like broccoli and cauliflower and I ate that a LOT at first. I like some pasta :). And quiche, which I can easily get at grocery store.
I went tonight by myself to watch the sun set. Something we used to do before and something I KNOW I enjoy. I take photos and saw the most amazing thing. The sun reflecting on the water formed a cross. Isn't that neat? I can't wait to get it into my computer to use for a mini poster.
My husband is feeling weaker but I took him some food he likes, fried chicken and he was happy.
This weekend I am taking him off in the car. People there will put him into my car and where we are going other men will help him out then back in. I hope he has fun because it will be work and stress for me.
God is so very present when we just look.
And even when we are struggling we can bless others.

He is in hospice and not expected to live on this earth but a few more days. It is surreal to me.
It is both and ending and a beginning for both of us.
His true life in heaven is beginning, his life on earth is ending.
My life as a wife is ending, but I am STILL the bride of Christ.
After a time there will be an entirely new rhythm of life, right now it is just surreal and sad.
There is ONE constant...the Lord Jesus whose love never changes, whose presence never vanishes or ends.
God's love is an eternal rhythm that transcends temporal things...
I made some posters tonight... I feel unsettled...

It amazes me how you can look at this is such a Godly response. You are a woman of God. I'm inspired greatly. I know your heart must still be broken. Grieving takes some time. Sometimes knowing about the process of grieving helps.

I adore you! <3
God bless and keep you.

Good morning hisown,

My prayer for you today is comfort for your husband and peace for you. God is right there with you to see you through this. He knows you are sad. He knows your heart is grieving. May He settle you, so that you can move forward into the next phase of life He has for you and your husband. Just know your husband will be in God's hands and in that find peace.

Love and hugs my friend

Thank you mlg. He passed over this morning. A group of us were praying for my brother who has cancer and is having a PET scan tomorrow and then we prayed for him and actually for everyone in the group. We were right in the door to his room and when we turned around, he was gone. Very gently. I had people there with me and my brother came up also from out of town. It is very surreal but the hand of God was upon him and us.
