Hello Kirsten,

God bless you this day.

I had to look up Pervasive Developmental Disorder -- Not Otherwise Specified because I am not familiar with the condition. All the sites that came up linked the condition to Autism, yet separately.

I'm praying that God will bring you into contact with the various members here that have similar experience.

May I suggest you also post your inquiry in the "Rising Above It All" Forum, here on this site. Here's the link: http://www.christianityoasis.com/Member ... m.php?f=64

God bless you, Kirsten.
Love,
Mack

Hi, Everyone,

I just need some prayer support right now. My father-in-law passed away early this morning, and he wasn't a believer. We've been through the hospice program for a whole day, and then things develop much sooner than anyone thought.

I was able to be with him on his last day, and for that I'm grateful. Right now I want a hole I can hide in and pull it in around me.

My husband and my brother-in-law are also in grieving difficulty, and I'm not much help (not much? ha ha - any?).

Thanks,

Sylvia49 *Pray* *help*

I'm not sure what that is, but I have Asbergers' syndrome.

PDD-NOS is a little bit more bad than Asperger Syndrome

Kirsten,

Just got an email from a parent of a second grader (7 yrs old).
Her son has recently been diagnossed with PDD-NOS.
She would like to know what to expect over the next
couple of years. Can you shed any light on this for her?
She also wants to know if she should medicate or not.
Do you have any experience with this that you can share?

Thanks,
Timothy

They offered us dipiperon. We never gave him that medication. There are several gradations of PDD-NOS,i dont know how worse it is with your friends child.
Repeat importand stuff to him day by day.If you have to repeat it 1000 times, just do so.
Use pictures to make it clear for him.Dont change the dayly stuff.Try to make the day always the same for him.Changes are confusing.Be very clear and think by yourself which way his thoughts can go.The parents has to be one step before the child in his thoughts. If something is changing in his daily routine, mention that a week before and do that daily.
Some kids are very scared if something new is happening, because they dont know what is going on.
Try to give a little present for every goal he make in his life. That worked for us.
Make him feel safe at home.Sometimes the big world is a enemy and scaring for these kids.
