Its really funny (translate: ridiculous) how most people arent seeing the hand of God in this. Of course their focus is on one of the 'oil gods', but most Christians will, i hope, see the bigger picture.
I certainly cant say its God trying to punish people for one thing or other, I just dont know so I am unable to say that with certainty.. but it is being allowed by God for a reason that goes further than unsafe oil rigs and greedy energy giants.
Fox News:
The deadly blowout of an oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico was triggered by a bubble of methane gas that escaped from the well and shot up the drill column, expanding quickly as it burst through several seals and barriers before exploding, according to interviews with rig workers conducted during BP's internal investigation.
BP is but one of MILLIONS of companies that dont put safety of their workers far less the environment, first. They are being made an example of in this case, but it coulda just as well been another company, another workplace, another country etc. But this is hardly something they would have set out to do, and hindsight is afterall, 20/20. And of course they are gonna be paying out of their noses for years to come, which will in no way repair the damage done and the damage yet to be done, but somehow the thought of money always seems to be equated with comfort for losses and pain incurred.
So... where might this one event lead... not for bp and the places affected, but for Christians, and if we claim to believe that everything happens for a reason, then what is the real reason and how does it fit into the puzzle?
