Aurora Shooting Victims

Postby KelseyLong » Tue Jul 24, 2012 4:07 pm

As most of you know, I live in Aurora and was one of the first to find out that 4 sailors were involved. There are military members dead, please pray for Matthew McQuinn, a U.S. Navy veteran who served three tours of duty in the Middle East, died in the shooting massacre while protecting his girlfriend, Navy cryptologist John Larimer who went to the theater with three other sailors from nearby Buckley Air Force Base, and an Air Force reservist who worked at Buckley also was killed in the rampage; Sgt. Jesse Childress, 29, was a cyber-systems operator from Thornton, Colorado. One that sticks out to me is Jonathan Blunk, 26, of Aurora, Colo., served in the Navy between 2004 and 2009 and most recently worked at a hardware store, according to close friend James Gill of Brighton, Colorado. Blunk had plans to re-enlist with a goal of becoming a Navy SEAL, said Gill, who lived with Blunk several years in the Navy and later in Aurora. Please pray for these deceased victims who served and protected your country. My dad wrote this one facebook.
Folks,
Today, this has a great meaning. Yes, me and my family are in Aurora and we are fine. I've been at work since 0430 since the incident. I stated both of these oaths enlisting, reenlisting and commissioning as an Officer. I WILL DEFEND THESE UNITED STATES against all enemies, foreign and DOMESTIC. I was supposed to reenlist a AF TSGT today, but events are overcame that. Please remember those serving abroad and at home...Bob

Enlisted Oath
I, (NAME), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God.

Officer's Oath
I, (state your name), having been appointed a (rank) in the United States (branch of service), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the office upon which I am about to enter. So help me God.

I also have a picture of my dad who attended the vigil, he is the man behind the man holding the white flowers. He has been having a hard time, he lost some friends and has been up since 4:30 every morning and coming back home at 7-8:30pm.http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=445516862146952&set=a.101380839893891.3057.100000659276974&type=1&relevant_count=1
As a Christian, we will find struggles and hardships like no other, that is why Jesus died for me, that is why he died for YOU! Often times we find ourselves wondering, is this life worth living? I thought I got a great deal when I signed up for this. But here is a reality check, we did not just sign up, we chose to LIVE! God gives us tests, to prove ourselves to him and so we can grow stronger, that is why our hardships are truly blessings in disguise. So count both your hardships and blessings

I thought about your dad as soon as I read military personnel were killed. :( Praying for him and EVERYONE who's been touched by this and those who haven't as they may need prayer even more.

Love you lil sis

Made the news here too. Praying for all those involved. When I heard about the guy that lost his life to save his girl friend (thanks to you, that guy has a name, His name is Mathew Mcquinn and He was a sailor). What came to mind was this verse: John 15:12 -13 This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, to lay down his life for his friends.

As for Mr. Holmes, he not knowing carried out the work of the devil. Guess it's not only the heart we must guard but also the mind, we must take care not to invite the enemy in, He is a lier and a destroyer. As Christians we must put on Gods Armour daily (ephes 6:10) invite the Holy Spirit, so that he will guide us in all things.....

Prayers rising for those involved, may your presence be with them, and your love shower them.
God be with them.
To shine in one light.

Praying for everyone. We also need to pray for the shooter and his family. I know this is hard to do as we often want to see justice and to condem him but as christians we need to try to forgive him and to pray that he will find God and repent of his sins. *Pray*
