Need more "Light?"
Hi Wonderfuls!

Blessings!
We are all growing in our understanding of the working of the Spirit of God in our spirit. Just wanted to share with you a couple of scriptures.

Quote:
13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. 14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
The above 2 verses in the 16th chapter of John show us how our spirit should receive understanding. We should receive instruction directly from the Lord Jesus through His Spirit in us that He has given us. I know some might think I spend lots of time reading and studying scripture. In fact, I spend very little. I used to read everything I could get my hands on. In fact, I had an entire Christian library of my own and would purchase and read and study several books a month. Truth is I didn't learn much...
My approach was all wrong! I was following the example of the great expositors of the Bible, but understanding little and experiencing nothing of the working of the above referenced scriptures in my life. In fact, it wasn't until our Love-Dad-God shed His love on my page that I began to seek His Spirit of Wisdom and Revelation. It was then and has been that as I sit outside each evening I ask the Spirit to seek what the Lord Jesus would have me know and share with all of you. Sometimes I receive His light of revelation as I wake in the morning. Other times, as it has been recently, I am shown in the evening as I sit outside.
Sometimes I only receive one verse to discuss with you, but as I obey in faith and begin writing, everything opens up my eyes go all over the Bible seeing the relationships in various gospels written in different ways but containing the same truth. For example, as I began sharing this my understanding went to the scripture in James that talks about God giving us wisdom.
Fact is, wisdom and understanding in the revelation of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ belongs to us for the asking. It is just that we need to learn to send His Spirit of ours to Him to receive that which He has freely given us to understand. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life of our understanding by and through the Holy Spirit, The Comforter, The Holy Spirit He has given us, and this is His working for the glory of God.
Quote:
14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you.
The "you" part of us is our soul, the seat of understanding and will. When we will The Spirit of Truth in us to look to Jesus for what He would have us know, The Spirit of Truth in us receives from Jesus and shows us.
I gave my Christian library away. If I hadn't I wouldn't know anything. Last week I read an excerpt by a guy on one of the parables of Jesus. He said he had been trying to figure it out for 30 years...He continued saying he thought "HE" had finally figured it out. I didn't read any further.

It is most certainly far better to die in faith believing, than it is to live in unbelief.
