Hi, Kimmie . . . prayer for your brother . . .
I think of how I have been in psychiatric custody and on a med called Navane. Then I went off it and had a better quality life, and went to live out with the homeless and had an even better quality of life . . . but I'd say this was with God. And I don't know how your brother is. But I did so much better with not going along with this world's ways that we have been trained to follow and assume what we have to do, etc.
But now I have settled into an apartment and in a church where we have people who have been married and brought up children, but I'm seeing how ones can run themselves around for what God does not have to work out for them, then they can be stressed . . . because they did not stay with what God really had them doing in His peace. "'Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.'" (Matthew 11:29)
"This is good medicine > to do what Jesus has us doing with rest for our souls."
(o:
So . . . we hope you stay with us a while > it can be good to share with other Christians to help us to go through things, and better yet to get more with God. I am noticing, in my church, how a lot of attention can go to trusting God to take care of us and get us through troubles. But . . . I'm thinking . . . Christianity is not all about getting through problems (o: and just getting God to take care of *us* (o: and ones we like and care about >
But first is to submit to You, God, and be pleasing to You and obeying You in Your peace (o: And problems are not to be first to get our attention, but our attention belongs with You, in Your peace. Often enough, we can want You to solve a problem because it is getting in the way of how we want to live > we may *not* be trying to do Your will, but just trying to *use* You to make things so we can get what >we< want. And this does get crazy.
So . . . please make us wise to this, and wise to ourselves; and please correct and heal us to be first about pleasing You and personally submitting to You and how You personally rule us in Your peace > Colossians 3:15.
Thank You, for this, in the name of Jesus our Lord and Savior and Groom
