Thank you all so much for your heartfelt prayers, and posts.

Since my oncologist told me I'll be losing all of my thick, naturally wavy dark brunette hair once I begin chemo, I ordered a few hats from the American Cancer Society catalog. Everything is reasonably priced. A friend unexpectedly sent me the funds to order my hats---praise God!

I also praise God that more and more friends from church are pitching in and helping me with transportation to medical appointments, calling to check on me, running errands and grocery shopping, etc.

On May 5th, I see my Surgery team doctors to discuss placement of the venous access device (VAD) port placement. It will be surgically implanted in a major vein near my heart. This port will make chemo delivery less painful and more convenient for medical staff. Fortunately, I will be under general anesthesia for this implant.

My senior Pastor's wife---Robin---will take me to this appointment. She is the most kind, loving, motherly, caring, compassionate person I have ever met in my entire life. She was also an RN. God provided her for me.

Take care, everyone.

Ladies----be sure to get all your annual screening done!

Love from your sister in Christ-------

Hello, and HUGS to everyone!

On May 02, my best friend came over.

She and I have known each other since we were 12 years old. We have been best friends for 41 years!

She took me to breakfast at Mimi's Cafe, and then we went to Claire's Boutique because I wanted to get a few pair of inexpensive earrings.

I'm usually extremely conservative in how I dress, even to what earrings I wear.

This time, I got brightly colored, whimsical earrings.

One pair is the skull-and-crossbones pirate design. (When I was a child I had hopes of someday becoming a pirate.)

A set of 9 pair of earrings is all different colors of jeweled studs. They're sparkly and pretty.

The third pair is bright green frogs. Reedeep! Reedeep!

My best friend and I had such a wonderful day together! A lot of laughs.

We strolled down memory lane, the only journey I find not to be totally exhausting. Since we met in the sixth grade, there were many laughs about "remember when you . . ."

She is coming over again soon---this month!

Is there someone in your life you need to call and re-establish a friendship? Do it now, don't wait until it's too late.

Love and hugs in Christ to you all------------

PAMELA

Hello, everyone:

I had the port-a-cath installed in a large vein near my heart.

My Senior Pastor took me to the hospital. I was there from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Most of the time was spent in bed at the Nurse's station, then over to pre-op, then surgery, then to the Recovery area.

My friend Robin---Pastor John's wife--- was with me in the Recovery area. I'd been put completely out, and I had a bad reaction to the general anesthesia. Hurling, weakness, headache and confusion. I could hardly walk or talk.

Robin had been an RN, so she helped me through the worst part.

I am so thankful to God for all my friends!

Two friends from church come over every other week and clean my entire apartment.

A friend is coming over today, and we are going out to lunch.

I'm so glad the port is in. Now---countdown to chemo!

I've received the hats I ordered from the American Cancer Society. My oncologist told me two weeks ago that I WILL be losing all my hair, then after chemo ends in six months, it will grow back.

Thank you all for you heartfelt prayers and words of kindness and encouragement.

Hi, Pamela. What a blessing your friends are. Praise God!

Your positive attitude must be an encouragement for others who are enduring the same trials.

God bless and keep you, Pamela.

Hello, all my brothers and sisters in Christ------

I am thankful today for Pastor John and Robin coming over and bringing me groceries.

I praise God for the incredible outpouring of His love I have been experiencing, especially noticeable in these past 2-1/2 months.

I thank and praise Almighty God that the chemo port installation at the hospital was successful, without complications or problems.

I praise God that He will give me the strength and courage to go through chemotherapy, beginning very soon.

I thank God for everyone on this forum---your prayers, and kind words of encouragement. We Christians really are in God's Forever Family!

The hospice employee came over today for an hour and did some necessary cleaning. She is a Christian, and we pray before she leaves. She is a real sweetheart.

In about half an hour, two friends are coming over. They will have travelled about 45 miles each way to visit me. They are bringing a few groceries, and hopefully we are going out to dinner at the Olive Garden or Mimi's Cafe.

Praise God---He saw to it that my apartment was cleaned today. It's a worry off me, and further evidence of His love. How excellent our God is to take care of every little detail!

What concerns us, concerns Him.

It will be so good to see Mike and Sharri. I have known her since 1981.

She is bringing me a teddy bear! Woo hoo! Feels like my December birthday!

Love and hugs to all in Christ----------
