Matthew 11:28-30
28 Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."
(ESV)
Radio conversation between two ships passing in the night...
Voice 1: "We can see your lights and you are on a collision course with our vessel. Please divert your course 15 degrees to the North to avoid a collision."
Voice 2: "I can see your lights too and recommend you divert your course 15 degrees to the South to avoid a collision."
Voice 1: "This is the captain of a US Navy ship. I say again, divert YOUR course."
Voice 2: "No, I say again, you divert YOUR course."
Voice 1: "I am in the U.S.S. Wolverine, the largest battleship on this ocean. I DEMAND that you change your course one-five degrees North!"
Voice 2: "I am in the Point Amour lighthouse. Your call, sir."

When they would yoke two oxes together to pull something, the lead ox always had to bare the greater weight. When Jesus said "take my yoke upon you," He was saying let me lead, let me take the heavier load, If you yoke with me the burden will be easy." But in order for this to happen, we have to let Jesus be the lead ox! We can't fight and demand that He go our way, that He change His course. We have to trust Him, because He is a lighthouse, He knows what's coming ahead and we don't!
(Quote from A Day's Journey by John Courson)
" I am the lighthouse.
I am the creator of the world,
The Rock of your salvation,
The Creator and Sustainer of your soul.
I am the Alpha and the Omega,
The One who knows the beginning from the end.
Trust Me."
