Joshua 1:7-9
7 Only be strong and very courageous, that you may observe to do according to all the law which Moses My servant commanded you; do not turn from it to the right hand or to the left, that you may prosper wherever you go. 8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. 9 Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.”

Yes, Jesus' sacrifice freed us from the Law of Moses (Romans 6:14), but concept of these verses is still true for every Christian. God does not give us commandments to be mean, or just because He's God, and He can. He does this for the sole purpose of our benefit. He does this so that we may prosper wherever we go! I'm reminded of the veggie tales tape about Joshua i used to watch (ok ok, i still watch veggie tales from time to time ) and one of the characters sang "God's way is the best way, and that's the way for me." And in this case, we should take a singing vegetable seriously.

Things won't always go the way we want, but you will find that in the end, God's way will be much more prosperous than your own.
