~ Forever Forgiven ~
Read Psalm 103:1-18 http://www.christianityoasis.com/bible/ ... ld_lookup=
"The Lord says, "I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds... Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more." - Hebrews 10:16 (NIV)
My wife and I lived in an apartment for a few years. There was an apartment above us and one beneath us. The floors were thin, and we heard every footstep and movement of our upstairs neighbors. We sympathized with the family living below us and made every effort to tiptoe and be cautious out of courtesy to them. Tiptoeing and catch anything we dropped before it hit the floor. When something did hit the floor, we would look down at the floor and say apologetically, "Sorry, Guys!"
Eventually we moved into a house. However, for months we continued to tiptoe and apologize to the floor when we dropped something. Then we would realize we were not in the apartment anymore. Though people no longer lived below us, we behaved as if they did.
That is often how we live in regard to our sin. The Bible says Christ is faithful to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Unfortunately, even after we are forgiven, we sometimes live as if forgiveness never occurred. That is just as silly as living as if we have neighbors below us when we do not.
God is trustworthy, and when we ask forgiveness, God gives it.
Prayer: Dear Father, thank you for forgiving and cleansing us of sin. Help us not to feel burdened by forgiven sin. Amen.
Prayer Focus of Day: Those living as if they are not forgiven.
Thought for the Day: When God forgives our sin, It is gone forever.
