John 14:1-6

If I go and prepare a
place for you, I will
come again and receive
you to Myself; that
where I am, there you
may be also.

Jan and Hedrikje Kasper sailed onto United States waters in January 1957. Their family of 12, along with other Dutch immigrants on board the Grote Beer, crowded on deck to catch their first glimpse of the Statue of Liberty in New Youk Harbor.
That initial view of Lady Liberty was exciting--and emotional. They had just endured an arduous 11-day journey across the sea on a no-frills voyage. They had left many friends and family members behind in The Netherlands. They had experienced rough seas brought on by a hurricane and had dealt with seemingly endless seasickness. But now--finally--they had arrived. They were home!
Someday those of us who have trusted Jesus Christ as our personal Savior will leave this life and go to the palce He has prepared for us (John 14:3). The journey may be difficult or uncomfortable, but we certainly look forward to the final destination.
Composer Don Wyrtzen wrote the music for a wonderful song that pictures our earthly life as a "tempestuous sea." It ends with these words:
`````````Just think of stepping on shore--and finding it heaven!```````
````````````````Of touching a hand--and finding it Gods!````````````
``````````````Of breathing new air--and finding it celestial!``````````
``````````````Of waking up in glory--and finding it home!```````````
When we see Jesus face to face for the first time--we will be "finally home." __Cindy Hess Kasper

**************Today's Bible Reading __ John 14:1-6****************
1 "Let not your heart be
troubled; you believe in
God, believe also in Me.
2 In My Father's house are
many mansions; if it were
not so, I would have told
you. I go to prepare a place
for you. 3 And if I go and
prepare a place for you, I
will come agian and receive
you to Myself; that where I
am, there you may be also.
4 and where I go you know,
and the way you know."
Thomas said to Him,
"Lord, we do not know
where You are going, and
how can we know the
way?"
6 Jesus said to him, "I am
the way, the truth, and the
life. No one comes to the
Father except through Me."

John 13-17 focuses on the teaching of Jesus to His 12 disciples on
the very night of His arrest. Jesus told them He would be betrayed
by one of them (13:21), would be going away (13:33), would be
disowned by Peter three times (13:38), and would be abandoned by
all of them (16:31-32). The disciples were troubled and discouraged
by all these things. Jesus comforted them with the promise of heaven
and His return (14:1-3), the privilege and power of prayer (14:12-
14), the gift, indwelling, and guiding presence of the Holy spirit
(14:16-17; 16:5-15), His peace (16:33), and His ultimate victory
(16:33). __Sim Kay Tee
