This morning I took the dog for a walk. She ran off. I shouted at her and reprimanded her but only because I love the stinky thing and I didn't want her getting lost. I put her back on the lead and made sure she got back home safely.
And then I realised... this is what God does. If we wander off, He reprimands us and puts us back on the lead. For our own safety, for our own good, because He loves us. WAYYYY more than I love the dog. So if things go wrong, make sure you run back to Him. He loves you, He will make sure you get back home safely.

And running back to Him means obeying His commands. Pretty good commands... To love Him and to love our neighbour, even our enemies. This is the love that comes from God.
