Hello, everyone.

I am new to COOL.

I struggle with isolation, loneliness and depression.

Sometimes I don't even feel like praying or reading the Bible.

Often, listening to praise and worship music is beneficial in lifting the mood.

Any suggestions?

PAMELA

Welcome :)

Welcome to the Oasis, SFTP!!! *angelbounce*

We are glad you are here, and I know you will find answers to your questions here, for the Holy Spirit is abound here in the studies, forums, and chat programs! But mostly in the people... I can relate to the not feeling like praying of studying His Word but you know what? There is not ONE way to do this, and fellowship with Oasis brothers and sisters and chat has motivated me at times to pray and study in the form of chat programs and prayer rooms.

I agree wholeheartedly about the music too!!!! That is the biggest thing I find inspires me and allows the Holy Spirit to really run free in me!

We also have many things here that may address your struggles with isolation, loneliness, and depression :) Many here including myself have struggled with these feelings, sis. There is a wonderful 14 day Christian Counseling study that has helped many if you wish to check it out:

Please look around our safe haven sis and if you have any questions please post here or feel free to private message me!

God bless you richly,
Susi

Hi Pamela,

I'm glad you're here to...it's a great community of caring people.

I know God leads us as we listen to His voice, I do believe He brought you here.

The times I have been through something you described, seemed as if no one cared....even though we know God always cares. Music is a great way to build our faith and lift our moods.....you and Susi are so right. God responds to our expressions of faith, although praising and saying how we love Him seems difficult when we feel that down.....

It changes everything.

You are in my prayers and in His thoughts.

Why don't you ask for prayer for the depression and lonliness in the prayer forum? We have an amazing community of pray-ers too.

God bless, Kim

Hey, Show. You came to the right place. I echo what Kim and Susi said below. The Christian Counseling study is wonderful. So is the study on depression.

I have been exactly where you are. Do you have a home church? If not, find one! Then get involved in a few things there. Join a bible study and volunteer to do something such as the alter guild or a circle. Get involved and watch friendships grow in the Lord.

Another great thing you could do is volunteer in your community. You could open up your phone book and find all kinds of Christian organizations that need volunteers. Maybe there is a mission or the Salvation Army that could use help.

God bless you, sis. You have friends at Oasis. Lemme know if you need to talk.

Hi, cth! Welcome to Oasis! *Welcome* Thank you for your post. I am so glad you decided to reach out.

I lost my mother three years ago and know your pain. It's hard to understand why we lose our loved ones. I went through all the classic stages of grief. The one thing that kept me up was knowing she was in Jesus' loving arms and we would one day be reunited. I praise God for giving us the ability to remember the past. We have so many lovely memories of our families. Each moment with them was truly a gift.

Hold fast in your faith. Cling to the hope of seeing not only your son, but our Father one day when you are reunited in heaven.

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Oasis has a wonderful study on dealing with death.

I hope you check it out. Also, please join us in the chat room. We have a wonderful Christian family here that is encouraging and loving. You are more than welcome to join us. The chat room is safe and well monitored.

God bless you, cth. May the Lord give you peace, joy, and love through our savior, Jesus.
