Hello Butterfly :)

God bless you this day.

There are a multitude of reasons for wanting to be hugged or embraced or to have physical contact. God knew we needed one another, and there are many scriptures within The Bible speaking of embracing one another, and holy hugs. But, just like with anything else, satan can twist it, and if we're not careful, he'll twist us into following him into strong holds, cravings, consuming thoughts and such -- and he'll do it with a thought...a negative seed planted in our mind.

Just as a infant is comforted and consoled by the nurturing and loving heart of a parent through hugs and being held, we too, as adults, can be comforted and consoled by the nurturing love of God Almighty. For me, His hugs come in the form of blessed peace -- an overall sense of well-being, that begins in my heart when His peace wells up from within me and radiates outward. Hallelujah!!! Sweet Jesus!!!

His blessed peace has me sing "It is well, it is well with my soul." And, nothing compares to His loving and holy hugs.

In Galatians we are told about the fruit of The Holy Spirit. Galatians 5:22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit [Holy Spirit] is love, joy, peace, longsuffering [patience], gentleness, goodness, faith, (23) Meekness, temperance [self-control]: against such there is no law.

[] emphasis added by Mack

Notice that the first "fruit" of The Holy Spirit is Love, and the rest of them follow. This is God's Love, and it is pure and unconditional, and each of the other "fruit" are a by-product of His love. As Born Again Christians, we have been given a new life in Christ, and we have the indwelling of The Holy Spirit -- giving us access to His "fruit". While we're still here on this earth, our own love, peace, joy, etc., is corrupt -- in that it is conditional *Doh* , but as His children, we have access to His "fruit" which is pure without spot. So, when we're needing a hug, a loving embrace, or need to be held, all we need do is call out in the name of Jesus and He'll be there.

Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

God bless and keep you, Butterfly.
Love and (((hugs))),
Mack

Whew, I'm glad Mack answered that (beautifully), because I am almost the wrong person to ask about 'feeling' Jesus near.
God worked long and hard with me, teaching me it's not about 'feeling' Him near as it is, knowing He's there. I wanted to know by 'feeling' rather than trusting--which is the ultimate show of love to God--total trust.

I learned to trust the true, unfailing, always productive Word of God: Jesus Christ.

As humans we are made to need companionship. God wants us to trust Him to bring us the right kind of relationships for that. I have not done that, and I have done that. Wanna guess which ones worked into something great? Hah. You know.

I hardly ever 'feel' the Holy Spirit who lives within me. That's just the way God does it with me...not saying that's His way with everyone--we are all different and God knows it.
But I know without a doubt, He lives in me and it shows everyday. I draw on that Spirit hundreds of times a day. I know it's Him , not me, that accomplishes what I cannot. I couldn't live without Him, my very life depends on Him...this is what I trust.

God has you. :D
Love, Kimberly
