August is here, and I've chosen it to be a month of confessions of the Word of God. I believe in the spoken Word as the most powerful resource we have.
I believe there are the facts, and then there is the Truth of God's Word. If I want the facts to line up with the Truth, then I must confess without doubt the Truth, and stop confessing the facts.
Jesus said, I could have what I say. So today, I decide to stop saying what I have, and start saying what God says I have.
God's Word is God's will.
In the words Of Mary, mother of Jesus, "be it unto me according to thy word."
Joshua 1:8
This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.
the confession I make today is:
"Jesus is Lord of my life. Sickness and disease have no power over me. I am forgiven and free from SIN and GUILT. I am dead to sin and alive unto righteousness."
(Colossians 1:21-22)

WOW Kimberly.....I would like to join in confessions in the month of August. What better way than to lay hold of what the Word of God says.
My confession today is:
For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither or your ways my ways, declares the Lord. As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:8-9

Good one, Tam! Helps to keep in mind that God is all-knowing, and we are not.
I'm satisfied to let God be God.
Thanks.

God declares that His Word will not return to Him void (Isaiah 55:11), we are to return His Word by giving voice to it, and he will create ;the fruit of our lips' (Isaiah 57:19)
Confessing God's Word is a way I can fellowship with the Lord and increase my faith as I do.
Here is my confession today:
"I am free from unforgiveness and strife. I forgive others as Christ has forgiven me, for the love of God is shed abroad in my heart by the Holy Spirit."
Matthew 6:12
Romans 5:5

Good one Kimberly...was reading on forgiveness last night.
God promises that we are His and that He will take care of us.
My confession today is:
But now, this is what the Lord says-- he who created you , O Jacob, he who formed you , O Israel, Fear not, for I have redeemed you , I have summoned you by name, you are mine.
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned, the flames will not set you ablaze.
Isaiah 43:1-2

God is faithful! Thanks Tam.
So faithful, He sent Jesus to be a sacrifice for us. Every sin I've ever committed, Jesus took on Himself. My sins died on the cross, and along with them, my shame and guilt. I'm free.
Here is my confession today:
Jesus bore my sins in His body on the tree, therefore I am dead to sin and alive unto God, and by His stripes I am healed and made whole.
1st Peter 2:24
Romans 6:11
2nd Corinthians 5:21

Thank God for him dying on the cross for our sins.
Thank God that when we call on Him, he answers us because He loves us and tells us what we need to know. May not like the answer but........He know best.
my confession:
Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know. Jeremiah33:3
If we call on Him.....he will direct our paths.

Now if you obey me fully and keep my covenant, then out of all nations you will be MY TREASURED possession.
What an honor to be His treasured possession. WOW!

Tam! You've found some of the greatest promises God makes to His children....we should start a promise thread!
I believe those promises, and they are excellent testimonies to what God will do for those who love Him. But we have to say them, give them voice with our faith. Jesus said, we could have what we 'say'.
Here's the confession I say today:
"Father, because of Your Word, I am an overcomer. I overcome the world, the flesh, and the devil, by the Blood of the Lamb and the Word of my testimony!"
1 John 4:4
Revelation 12:11

Hi, Kimberly . . . you confessed >God declares that His Word will not return to Him void (Isaiah 55:11)
Yes, Isaiah 55:11 says,
"'So shall my word be that goes forth from My mouth;
. It shall not return to Me void,
. But it shall accomplish what I please,
. And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.'"
I notice how it says God's word will do what *God* pleases > I see this means what God Himself means by His word, and not limited to how we now can understand Him. And this will be every bite of His word > "shall" do all that God means > every commandment, then, will succeed in us to have us living and loving the way God means each commandment > including >
"Do all things without complaining and disputing," (Philippians 2:14) >
"without", Paul says. So, we can expect this, how Your love will change us and correct us and mature us so we are doing every single thing and every m-a-r-r-i-e-d thing
without complaining and disputing.
And every description and every example for us to follow, of God's word, shall come to pass, how God is able to do this with us. So, this would include Paul's example for us to follow >
"Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: I know how to be abased, and I know how to abound. Everywhere and in all things I have learned both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." (Philippians 4:11-13)

Thank you comfy, for underlining the fact we are to confess God's Word, (not our own words).... For accomplishing in us what God wants to acomplish. It is always about what God wants for us.
I also agree, the attitude Paul had was about being thankful for what he had, not focusing on whining about what he didn't have.....in any situation he found himself in.
Faith makes all the difference.
Faith comes by hearing the Word of God. (Romans 10:17)
My confession of God's Word today is:
"Heavenly Father, I attend to your Word. I incline my ears to Your sayings. I will not let them depart from my eyes. I keep them in the midst of my heart, for they are life and healing to all my flesh."
Proverbs 4:20-22

God has always looked at us as being very important to him....
My confession today is:
In a desert land he found him, in a barren and howling waste.
He shielded him and cared for him, he guarded him as the APPLE OF HIS EYE.
Deuteronomy 32:10
