A Question
Why do you think God gave us the emotion of anger?

wow kimmy thats an awesome question. There are so many facets to anger. There is righteous anger designed to help u bring about changes needed in ur life. and to confront someone (lovingly) when they are doing wrong. Anger serves some good purpose in ways, it helps to motivate people. But hanging onto anger isn't good. It eats away at ya. There is also jealousy which holds some anger in it too. I guess like with most emotions there are good and bad aspects to it. I think maybe emotions came as a result of the fall. Before the fall, man was in perfect union with God. As a result of eating from that tree, man has learned many things, not all are good for sure. Just my thoughts on it sis

Goldieluvs, evaluating when anger is good and when it isn't . . . I think that is good. You are showing us there is caring and loving anger, and there is anger that is not loving and caring. And there is anger that moves people to do what is good, but another anger that moves people to do what is not good. I think that's what you mean, and I feel you've got a good way with this.
Sensing and feeling, with the Holy Spirit, if the anger is good or not.
"swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath;
for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God."
(in James 1:19-20)
So, there is human wrath . . . worldly anger . . . witch God did not give us.
"Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you." (Ephesians 4:31-32)
So, there is bitterness and anger and wrath that God commands us to put away from us. It is not what God has given us, then. So, there is anger that is sin, just by it being there, in us. Because it needs to be put away. So, keeping it there is not obeying God.
So, we need to know when anger really is of God > I notice how when Jesus was angry, He also was so busy doing and saying what would make things better, for the sake of loving the way God wants us to love, to forgive, to have compassion. He was angry at ones who were against forgiving people and against compassion for sinful people.
But our anger human and of sin has its way of being concerned only about if we are getting what we want . . . the things we expect and demand from others, instead of being ready to be appreciative and humbly thanking for whatever we do get. And we get angry when our control gaming doesn't work for us and we get found out that our way does not work
Well . . . speaking for myself, anyway
