starting each day fresh

When I first wake up, each morning,
oh yes those thoughts about
yesterday's problems and people
and responsibilities and desires
rush right into my mind >
to demand my attention . . . a-w-a-y from God
So, as soon as I wake up from sleep,
I also need to wake up to You, LORD
It helps for me to stop and wait
for God to clear me of all that stuff
witch would take may attention away.
"And let the peace of God rule in your hearts,
to which also you were called in one body;
and be thankful." (Colossians 3:15)
Before I do any thinking or whatever,
first I need to hold out until God has me
with Him in His peace ruling me,
and then see how You have me being with You,
and what You have me thinking and doing with You
in Your peace so sweet and gentle and pure and pleasant.
This is Your day > not for me to plan,
but discover and enjoy all *You* please to share, today . . .
with me and all the others . . .
with u-s in one body, not only with me
I am not here for You just to
take care of me and solve my problems
and choose which things You will do for me,
that I desire and ask in prayer;
I am not here just to please me,
but *first* we are here to please *You* >
our *attention* belongs with *You*
Submitting to God, I might say, is
kind of like going to sleep >
except I stay awake and wake up
into God's love which is so
creamy and dreamy.
I have noticed how in order to go to sleep,
I must not try to MAKE sleep happen,
or my conscious *trying* will keep me awake (o:
I cannot control sleep > I need to be quiet
and let it take me when it is ready.
And, like this, I do not control God.
Submission to God, like sleep, is a gift
which God makes to happen . . .
how *You* make me the way *You*
desire that I be submissive to You,
NOT how I may decide and try
to make myself submissive.
So, I be quiet and wait and trust for God
to do as He pleases, then discover
how You make Your dreams come true
in my life, better than I would have thought
or wished
But quietness can be a scary place.
During conversations, ones can
fear stopping their talking and being quiet;
in a prayer group, being quiet can
get to feeling very awkward very quickly.
In prayer, we may feel we need to
start, right away, in a one-way
"conversation with God."
But quietness is where we can meet God
in "the incorruptible beauty of a
gentle and quiet spirit which is very precious
in the sight of God." (in 1 Peter 3:4)
So, Satan will attack quietness, in order to
make sure we don't share with God.
This is "why" in quietness we can be
attacked by loneliness and boredom
and worries and hurry and
memories of hurts and unforgiveness
and depression etc. . . . all witch
destroy and degrade our attention a-w-a-y from You
so loving and pure and sweet and personal
in love having Heaven's own goodness of
pleasant rest refreshing us sweetly with You.
That is a smart little chickie who
pecks its way out of its shell,
so it is not shut in with its own smell,
and leaves behind all that shell stuff
of yesterday's problems and trouble people
and desires and responsibilities
that would shut in little chickie.
Get out of that shell stuff,
into the fresh air and being with
and enjoying the others who are with God,
and have some bounce
