more on Peter's journey
While reading Kimberly's Emo Diary, and wowed once again, I was reminded of another teaching I heard about Peter. When they were in the garden and the men came to take Jesus into custody -- Peter cut off one of guy's ears. I had never really thought much about that until I heard a teaching by another and my spirit leaped. Was Peter actually aiming for the guy's ear? The teacher suggested that Peter was probably aiming to cut the guy's head off with his sword, yet the guy probably leaned his head over to avoid the sword's blade, resulting in his ear being cut off instead of his head. Moments later, Jesus healed that man.
Wow, I wonder how many times I intended to defend my Lord, only to attack another instead of loving them? Thank You Holy Spirit.
I know that the more I grow my faith, by walking hand in hand with The Holy Spirit, He'll protect me from stepping off the path into the darkness -- where my flesh rules. Jesus protected Peter that day, protected him from committing murder. The Spirit of God was there with them in the garden. The Spirit of God moved.
Wooooooohoooooooo!
God bless you,
Sister Mack

Thanks, Mack...
That's another good 'Peter' lesson, he seemed like such a goof, always messing up. But what valuable lessons there are in his well-intentioned mistakes! Mainly that I have made the same type of mistakes, and I am covered in grace as well.
Jesus is Lord.
Love ya, Kim
