Anger and Jealousy
I am having problems with my anger and jealousy. I know that I am not supposed to feel these emotions as strongly as I do and I am trying very hard to get them under control. I think it is getting better and then something will happen and I feel like I am back in the same predicament that I was in before. Does anyone have any ideas on how to help me?

Re: Anger and Jealousy
It is great that you are recognising these feelings and acknowledging the fact that they shouldn't be there.
For me it has been important to try and find what is actually causing the anger....cause it is rarely the thing that pushes over the edge that is the true culprit. Something is keeping that feeling of anger continuously just under the surface. You mentioned that you were trying 'very hard to get them under control.' I found in my walk that me trying to get things under control...even if it was a good thing that I was trying to do...was another way of me trying to maintain control and not allow Him to work. I am not saying that is the case with you, but maybe something to think about. Like you, I knew I shouldn't be reacting the way I was, I knew it didn't honour Him, and so I didn't want to discuss it with Him. I tried to keep it together without asking Him for help. That didn't work so well. He knows us better than we know ourselves...He knows what is at the root of these strong emotions. Let Him show you, allow Him to help you.

Hello Scrapper
God bless you this day. And...welcome to Christianity Oasis.
There is a wonderful Study, here on this site, on the topic of Anger. Here is the link: http://www.christianityoasis.com/Keywor ... gement.htm
Just as Kimby said, it is good that you are recognizing that your anger is not beneficial to you, or to your walk with God.
Have you considered doing the 14-Day Counseling Study here? It is a great Study, and it has helped hundreds of people, myself included. Here is the link to the 14-Day Study, also known as CCCC (COOL Confidential Christian Counseling).

The Bible has all the answers to whatever ails us. I love these studies, because they are Holy Spirit inspired, and they lean heavily on The Word of God...The Bible. Jesus is The Word, and He is our Saviour, so it only stands to reason that He, Jesus, The Word of God, The Bible has all the answers and solutions to all our needs. Woooohooooo! Thank You Jesus.
I'm looking forward to seeing you around the site.
God bless and keep you.
In Christ Jesus' love,
Sister Mack
