Need help finding a Bible

I recently ordered a book online called "The Daily Bible Devotional"; however, this was not exactly what I was looking for.

I am looking for a Bible that will be easier for me to understand, but I still would like for it to be in "chronological" order if at all possible. I've only seen one Bible written as such, and I just can't remember what kind of Bible it was or where I can get one. The top portion I believe had the actual scripture, and just below that was the "translation" (for lack of a better word) in easy-to-comprehend (or child-like) terms. If you could find me the name and author of such a book I would be greatful as I'm not having any success with finding it on my own.

hi heather
there are so many Bibles out there.
It sounds like what you saw was a King James Bible with modern translation under it.

I never read the Bible until my sister gave me The Quest, which is an NIV (new international version) study Bible written in modern language with notes in the margin and concordence. I love it.

My suggestion to you heather, is to go to a Christian bookstore and look through the Bibles asking God which one is the one for you. Even Walmart has a nice selection of Bibles. Look in the NIV or NLT.(new living translation) I think that is what you are looking for.

hey sis,

there are many different types and translations of Bibles.

i use many different versions for many different purposes. the easiest to understand, that i have found is the translation that is called "The Message" and "The Good News". the version that is The Message is what is called, "a paraphrase".

there are also different on-line Bibles that have numerous translations available. i would be happy to pm you the links if you like? just let me know.
