What Do You Know About Healing?
Hello All,
Blessings!
And a good Saturday morning to ya! I was reading in the first few chapters of Acts yesterday and a couple of verses kind of jumped out at me. Most of you all know the prophecy going around that a great outpouring of the Holy Spirit has/is/will be coming on the body of Christ. And that with that outpouring will also come ever increasing separation from the world, and an ever increasing oneness among us. The Lord has been dealing with me quite a bit about praying for His signs and wonders to increase, specifically along the guidelines below.
Here are a few keys He has shown me on how to pray. The keys are, that we recognize our Heavenly Dad as the source of all healing power inside and outside the House of God. He does the work. That we pray before Him to consider how the heathen are arrayed against Him and our blessed Lord, that He grant to us by His hands His healing be done, by the name of Jesus, with all boldness of the power of the Holy Ghost, and that we do so in one accord. We offer Him our hands for His work.
I would like to know your thoughts on the matter.
Acts 4:24-28
[24] And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is:
[25] Who by the mouth of thy servant David hast said, Why did the heathen rage, and the people imagine vain things?
[26] The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord, and against his Christ.
[27] For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together,
[28] For to do whatsoever thy hand and thy counsel determined before to be done.
[29] And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word,
[30] By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus.
[31] And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.
Acts 3: 6-7
6] Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.
[7] And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ancle bones received strength.
Acts 3: 12-16
[12] And when Peter saw it, he answered unto the people, Ye men of Israel, why marvel ye at this? or why look ye so earnestly on us, as though by our own power or holiness we had made this man to walk?
[13] The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go.
[14] But ye denied the Holy One and the Just, and desired a murderer to be granted unto you;
[15] And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses.
[16] And his name through faith in his name hath made this man whole.
Acts 5:12-16
[12] And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; (and they were all with one accord in Solomon's porch.
[13] And of the rest durst no man join himself to them: but the people magnified them.
[14] And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.)
[15] Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them.
[16] There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.
Blessings!

It is most certainly far better to die in faith believing, than it is to live in unbelief.

Hello Saint
God bless you this day.
You asked:
I've read His Word, I've received it, and yes I do put it into action -- sometimes -- in regards to the laying on of hands for healing.
I stress sometimes, because I find that sometimes I don't because the person involved (the one needing healing) is so close to me that they only see me, the person they raised, grew up with, or has known for years as the flawed human that I am. And, their knowledge of me reminds me of that very same thing, and my self-consciousness comes to the forefront and my faith takes a backseat and becomes second to my own flawed reality. BUT, I am fully aware that I am not the one that heals. God heals, but He will use my hands.
I have; however, laid hands on several people, including myself, and commanded the sickness or infirmity to leave in the name of Jesus. On a couple occasions, I've laid hands and prayed for people, without them knowing I was doing it at the time. They thought it just a warm greeting between friends. The reason for me not telling them was this: even though they believe in Jesus and healing, they are often tempted by the enemy and others to put on a performance rather than trust The Lord to do the miraculous.
Many, many years ago, shortly after confessing Jesus as my Lord and Saviour, I went with a friend to an event where two well known TV ministers spoke and afterwards laid hands on people to receive healing. I had never been to one of these "events" before, and didn't really know what to expect. I just thought that they would share a nice sermon. After the sermon, my friend and I waited in line, along with several hundred other people to get our healings. Again I want to say, I didn't really know what to expect because I had never witnessed such a thing. I remember I tried to pick which condition to have them heal me of. When we finally were ushered to THE receiving line, the two that were laying hands were practically running and bopping people on their foreheads, and I was totally distracted by people falling on the floor. I got bopped on my forehead and remember hearing in the name of Jesus. I did not fall. I did not feel any different. But as quickly as I was bopped, those of us in the "receiving line" were ushered away so the next 20 or so people could have their turn. I kept looking back as we were being whisked away to look at the people that had fallen down, because I was kinda confused and wondered if those people were ok. They were being pulled up and gently pushed, a sight similar to what you might see sun bathers do at the beach right after someone has yelled "shark!!!"
I don't know if anyone was healed at that event or not... but, probably. God is Good.
Since that time, I have come to believe in, and have been witness to, His healing power.
God bless and keep you, Saint.
Love,
Mack

Hello..
Hi Mack, All,
Blessings!
I just praise the Lord and thank Him for your heart felt reply. You know I have had questions about our approach to the laying on of hands for quite some time. Currently, I am not in a healing ministry. I know opportunities for such use of my hands will come when His anointing is present. My reason for the post was to raise awareness of the Father's work and remind that as the body of Jesus increases on the Earth, so will the power displayed in those He has chosen for such ministries.
I personally believe we are moving toward greater and greater anointing and authority, such that some of our lives will resemble those of the Apostles, and the memories of those outside the greater faith realm will be effected so they will come in. I also believe there will be some outside church walls like the Apostles preaching the gospel of our Lord Jesus on the streets, Jesus Himself working with them confirming their preaching with even greater signs and wonders.
Blessings!
Love you Mack, All
