You gotta flee, not flirt ...
I was asked not too long ago by a dear girlfriend of mine this all too familiar question that I used ask for years (and I'll be honest, sometimes I still do): "How far is too far?" Does that ring a bell? How close can we get to the imaginary line before it crosses over into sin? Have you asked yourself that? More importantly ... have you asked yourself that lately to rationalize your actions?
My dear, dear friends at Oasis, I want to share with y'all some Scripture that we ALL need tattooed to the back of our eyelids.
"Flee from sexual immorality..." I Corinthians 6:18a
Did you just READ that?? The Bible says to "FLEE." It never says anything about, "Well, you can make-out, but no taking off clothes" or "You can look at risque' pictures as long as they're not completely nude and you don't touch yourself." It says to literally RUN AWAY FROM IT. Don't put yourself into those situations. Don't flirt with danger! Get away from that imaginary line!
... but how do we do flee? You gotta prepare yourself for temptation to strike. We each need to stop and examine ourselves and ask this question: what triggers me to fall into sexual immorality?
I'm gonna make myself very vulnerable here: for me personally, it's when I'm alone with gentleman that I have a history with. You know what the means? I can't be alone with them. As much as my flesh hates to hear this, my spirit NEEDS for me to cut off communication with them.
Seriously ... the actual act of preparing ourselves to avoid temptation IS fleeing temptation. Let's face it: temptation is going to happen, but if we can avoid situations that will cause us to be tempted, the Lord will strengthen us even moreso to overcome these strongholds! AMEN!?
Another way to avoid temptation is this: joining a support group... LIKE THE ONE HERE AT OASIS (do you like that little plug?)! Seriously, if you have a real addiction to this filth, you're not alone and there is HELP among the body of believers. So, come on out TONIGHT!
I love each of y'all very much. See you tonight!! *hugs*

But, but, but ... maybe if I don't read it, it doesn't apply to me! Yeah, that's it ...
Too bad the Word totally calls us out on it ...
"But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus." II Timothy 3:14-15
Since INFANCY? Awww man ... I guess I'm out of excuses.
(I pray that y'all hear the truth amongst my sarcasm because let's be honest, how many times do we try to ignore the Scriptures? It's like when we get an email or a text, and we pretend we didn't get it because we don't want to deal with it. Only ... this is so much worse).
I'm so happy it ministered to you, sis!! *hugs*
Flee, y'all ... don't flirt.

Thank you so much Deep for that major insight. Just like you, my thoughts get the best of me and as we know our flesh tries to take over. Friends of mine talked about this subject so I'll bring up those Scriptures at our next meeting. Thanks once again, sis, for that insight for it helps me out a lot!
