Greetings Family!!!
First, let me start by saying... Luv Ya!!!
For those of you who have made the decision to do the CCC Study Walk... please know it is so worth it! So many have found healing, I believe you can (and will) as well...
I am not going to lie and say it is easy.. If you truly take your time and do each day, let it sink in, easy is the furthest possible word If you find yourself overwhelmed, please know,
First, you are NOT alone!!!
2nd... bad days are understandable when seeking healing...
Additionally know that it isn't stated anywhere that the Steps have to follow a calendar so if you need an extra day or two... hey Take a break, No Worries.
Also, even after you complete the walk, you can always go back and do it again... I know several awesome people who have done the walk a few times... no one said it was once and done.. again No Worries.
That being said... I have had the privilege of speaking to several of you.. for the time you take to reach out, Thank you! Please know you are in my prayers always.
One key word keeps coming up, with the same "reason why" following..... let me explain:
With every conversation I have, I will at some point here the word "Walls". "They are too High", "Too Thick"... etc. "They protect me" You name it, I've heard it.. Please don't get me wrong... I do not doubt for one moment in the existence of our pain, those walls do seems safe.. because they keep hurt out.. right?
Forgive me but.. BUZZZZZZZZZZZZZ Sorry, not quite.
Walls, while seemingly "safe" and "protective", do nothing more then box in the pain you wish to hide and block out the positive things that will help you find healing. The awesome thing about the Lord, our Father.. Papa.. whatever name you call Him by.... Walls and locks mean little, because no matter how small your faith, (even if you think you have none) He will get over the wall, or through the locked door... Why? Because He is there, in your heart.. swimming around in the pain you say you wish gone. He holds the master key, to everything in existence.. Unconditional Love.
Breaking down the walls, not only releases the pain held within, it also gives Him some room to stretch and grow. Take a moment, in prayer..... and really search your heart..... are those walls helping? If you still hold on to each hurt you have... despite those walls.. if everything is as fresh today as it was the day the hurt happened...it seems to me, those "walls" aren't doing the you have enlisted them to help accomplish.
I was talking, explaining this to a friend today, (He is having a difficult time... I know he will find peace soon) the following sentence came about..and even I stopped and thought.. "Hmmm"
"Build Bridges Brother, Not Walls."
I know right... God is awesome!
Now, here me out on this one....
In my opinion, walls only lock us in, drown us if you will, in the pain we thought we were fighting to release... yes, it is a way to cope. I understand this entirely.
Perhaps, instead of building a wall.. you could consider building a bridge....
This, in my opinion is a healthier choice. You are choosing to rise above the hurt you face.... Rather then close it in, you are walking over it. Getting distance from it instead of stewing in it... I shall repeat it once more..
"Build Bridges, Not Walls"
Please feel free to share what this says to your heart... agree or disagree.
Peace and Luv in Christ,
Lani
