Struggle With Impurity
Ever since I was a child, I had unwanted perverted sexual thoughts that were very disturbing. From the year of 1996 till now, I have been in bondage of impurity engaging into self gratification due to these thoughts. These thoughts would come and it would bring on intense urges or temptations. Some days I'm able to resist and some days or certain times of the day I'm not able to resist and I give in which is also known as habbital sin.
Every time I fail and give in to these temptations, I would beat myself up with guilt, shame, confusion, anxiety, depression, oppression and discouragement. I did research over the internet regarding my problems with this issue and it is said that I may have been born with Obsessive Sexual Behavior which is a side affect of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. All I know is that it is really affecting my walk with God. I want to be free from this, but I've been enslaved. I want to worship God in purity. I often cried out to God for deliverance.

Joseph Michael,
My name is Ralph and I am the husband of long-time member, Mack. Your post was brought to my attention and I would like to share a few comments.
First, you're a brave young man for bringing this out into the open. I believe you when you say this is a big problem for you. Anything that keeps distance between God and us is a problem. But the wonderful thing about God is that he is waiting and wanting to help. Matt 7:7 "Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you."
Trust God with all your heart, soul and mind. He hears you. He will help you.
I'm no expert in the fields of emotional disorders. Nor any other disorder for that matter, so I don't have any scientific or psychological thoughts to share. I do know this though... God loves you. And always has. Sometimes those words sound shallow and insincere, as though one can't think of anything else to say, but trust me, they are true and absolute.
Allow me to offer a few suggestions. First, don't believe everything you read on the internet. You can drive yourself crazy. Information overload is crippling. It takes your mind to places it has no business going. Secondly, if you fall, repent. Tell God you're sorry and ask for His forgiveness. Yes, God knows everything, but He wants to hear it from you. Tell Him what led to your decisions and actions and ask Him for help. God wants to help, but sometimes we need to get out of the way. When the desire to sin is upon you, take a moment to pray. Ask God why this desire(sin) is happening. Ask Him to reveal things to you that will help you overcome this problem. He will. Lastly, do not think you are a failure, either to yourself or God. You are not. You are a child of God who's facing struggles just like every other human. Keep God close and talk to him as though He's sitting right next to you.
Stay strong young man. Turn your attention to HIM.
Ralph
ps. I have heard you sing! Mack and I enjoyed it very much. Keep it up.
