Thank you Greengo for teaching us how to share about Jesus! That was incredible!

Don't you find that most people are really very interested in hearing, especially if you take the time to listen to what they believe first? God has put a yearning in our hearts when we're created and all of life is a search for the truth (some just don't know they're on a hunt lol). They can tell when we are sharing with them out of genuine love.

I noticed that you ask them about church which is also how I often start a conversation. Sometimes an everyday event will give me an opportunity to reference a well known Bible story. For example, if it's raining a lot, I can say something about Noah's ark, and ask them if they grew up going to Sunday School. The answer to that question often leads to them saying they didn't or they don't go to church anymore. Then I"ll tell them that I go to church but that church isn't really what being a Christian is all about; but rather having a personal relationship with Jesus. Knowing that He died on the cross to pay the price of death for my sins so that I can have eternal life, I want to spend time with him. I do that mostly through reading the Bible and praying to Him.

When someone says that they are of a different faith I usually ask them a lot of questions about it and try to find some common ground from which to share. Sometimes I"ll ask them what holidays they celebrate and talk about how they compare with Christian holidays. I'm genuinely interested in their beliefs while being very straightforward about mine and it leads to many interesting conversations with increased knowledge on both sides.

You guys are inspiriting me! Now I can't wait to get out there and find someone to talk to about Jesus!

Love ya,

Music , the universal language Greengo , gets them all the time doesn't it ? like The Psalms ?

Surfing thru the blog , the word Lebanon caught my eye , and I almost went Yikes ! rofl (almost is the key word) , I never thought they can fit two ppl of Lebanese origin in one place without the place going haywire :) , but then again is our Lord Awesome or what ? Who would've thought !! Here I am in Maine , talking to a Fellow Christian in Beirut , my place of birth , and am thinking , you know ? I spent a good part of 20 some years literally going out of my way to avoid contact with anything having to do with my past , let alone my origins , and here I am , 10 years after meeting my Lord the Christ , and after about a year of being here at the Oasis , I finally make touchdown with a fellow Christian who is in Beirut !?!? Let me see if I can connect the dots here , Maine ......> Beirut , Hmm . Oh , I get it !! Christ !! As far as East is from the West .

I occupy two jobs today , one as a driver , and the other as an acting substance abuse "counselor" (at least that's what they call me around here , and my job title is on the paperwork ,.... little that they know all I do is try to give back what freely had been given me and if they want to pay me for it .. hey its their money right ?) . I look odd in both jobs well ok , odd period ok ? For I am an Artist and a "woodchuck" by trade , and people are always asking me , "From Lebanon to Maine , from artist to a truck driver who occupies a counseling office in a recovery center , what gives ? " and I say "my brother/sister , all I do is say yes to the One who gave His ALL , would you like to meet Him ? "

In brotherhood of The Christ our Lord

God works in mysterious ways Vahn!

Would ya'll believe that after posting about witnessing to people of other beliefs I had Jehovah's Witnesses show up at my door this morning? After my post I couldn't very well send them away so I spent quite a bit of time talking to them and now have a lot of homework to do before they return. I'll study up and be ready! They were very nice, very respectful, and prepared. I have to admire their dedication to sharing their beliefs!

I've been reading through the literature the Jehovah's Witnesses left for me. It is so sad to see they can't have the peace of knowing they have eternal salvation because they can't know if their works are good enough. They don't believe that Jesus is God nor even our mediator to whom we should pray. They don't believe in hell, they believe that the majority of good people will live forever on earth. Only 144,000 will be selected to rule in heaven and they are the only ones adopted by God.

Most sad of all is that they are going door to door through my neighborhood sharing these beliefs with all the people that I haven't even invited to church!

My Bible tells me in John 1:12: But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, [even] to them that believe on his name. and Gal 4:4-6 4 But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born[a] of a woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.6 And because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, Abba, Father!

Praying for you splash as you step out to reach your neighbors with the Truth. You know those tracts, maybe you could leave one with each neighbor with the address and directions to your church.

luv ya sis
