Need Encouragement?

Postby Lani » Wed Feb 09, 2011 10:19 pm

Where is my heart?
When I serve, who am I trying to honor?
If all I had was taken from me, what would I mourn for most?
Do I seek recognition for the work I do?

So many questions in our hearts huh?

Need or seek inspiration?
Looking for an example of God's Love that is more... "now"

I would like to introduce you to someone you already know of, but I have a hunch in truth you know little about the life of the person who carried the now Known Name...

Her name, given at birth was Agnes Bojaxhiu (Bo-jack-soy-ee) . She was born in late August 1910 in a humble Albanian community where they worked for all they had and that wasn't much by our standards. She heard His call at the tender age of 12 and acted upon it at 18 when she announced to her family that she intended to become a nun and soon after joined the Convent . Her mother supported this decision knowing it was God's Will for her. Her brother, slightly older and "wiser" was a soldier in the Albanian army. Upon hearing her news, he thought she was nutty and tried to discourage this.... after all her employment choice would help support their family..... as a nun there would be no income to provide for their family needs. Viewing life through a straw mentality but that is for another sharing

Well, she became a nun "officially" taking the vow at age 21 and worked for God's Glory for the next 60 plus years.

She started by teaching others in the poorest regions of her country but in her 30's God called her from the Convent to work throughout the world. She is responsible for the creation of more than 600 missions in over 100 countries which served to assist those "outcast" by society: Leprosy Clinics, HIV/AIDS support clinics, soup kitchens, orphanages and schools to name a few. She also aided in the education of individuals to "man" those missions which has now grow to a countless number, well into the hundreds of thousands, perhaps even reaching a million.

Her life was NOT without trial or doubt and she shared everything in diary entries written each day but every entry included "Your Holy Will". I am sure, if you research it, you could find some of the awesome messages she shared in those entries. Some included doubt, hurt, fear, pain, but ALL included Praise.

Agnes Gonxhua Bojaxhiu service has been and will always be known to the world....

she is known simply as

Mother Teresa

My grandmother spoke of her Service to our Lord often. He did SO much through her, what an awesome testamony to the WILL of God.

What if She had listened to her brother? Allowed the budren of having lost her father at such a young age and taken a job that paid minimally to support her family, as her brother pointed out.

Not only would the world have missed out on an awesome display of His will and awesome blessings, She herself would have been robbed of the blessing He bestows upon the heart of His servant.

The same is true for each of us.
We ALL have a call in His body and through that call, those existing on this blue ball are blessed and So are we. What a shame it would be to look back and say "What If"

Some awesome quotes I enjoy reflecting on :)

"God doesn't require us to succeed, he only requires that you try"
 Mother Teresa

"People are often unreasonable and self-centered. Forgive them anyway.
If you are kind, people may accuse you of ulterior motives. Be kind anyway.
If you are honest, people may cheat you. Be honest anyway.
If you find happiness, people may be jealous. Be happy anyway.
The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway.
Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough. Give your best anyway.
For you see, in the end, it is between you and God. It was never between you and them anyway."
 Mother Teresa

"I am not sure exactly what heaven will be like, but I know that when we die and it comes time for God to judge us, he will not ask, 'How many good things have you done in your life?' rather he will ask, 'How much love did you put into what you did?"
 Mother Teresa

"If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other."
 Mother Teresa

"Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier. Be the living expression of God's kindness: kindness in your face, kindness in your eyes, kindness in your smile."
 Mother Teresa
