Matthew 13 Verse 3 Part Three; The Late Great...

Hosted by Saint 701 ... This forum is for the purpose of examining the subject of Grace and its great place in God's work in the body of Christ Jesus of which we are a part. "The Book of Romans" was chosen for the title since that book is so rich in Grace to us, but in no way is this forum limited in examining Grace to only the "Book of Romans."

Matthew 13 Verse 3 Part Three; The Late Great...

Hello Christianity Oasis, All...

I must admit that I am impressionable. Reading The Late Great Planet Earth by Hal Lindsey left me stunned! His message, though around a long time, was not a part of my church doctrine. I was sort of like left gasping for spiritual air...starving for spiritual food. I had forgotten my conversion at age 10 and needed a healing touch from the Lord that I knew nothing about. Needless to say, I went searching for that missing something.

I got into the Word of God big time and supplemented that study with Hal Lindsey's next two books, Satan Is Alive and Well on Planet Earth and There's a New World Coming. What I didn't know at the time was that some of us get healed through repentance but not born again. Instead of being born again where old things pass away and all things become new and gain a semblance of enlightening, at that time, I had the experience where the weight of the world rolled off my shoulders and I experienced the peace that passes all understanding. I have a couple of scripture passages to substantiate those assertions.

Notice in the scripture passage below where the woman with the issue of blood is healed through her faith, our Lord Jesus tells her to go in peace. That is what happened to me. My faith touched the Lord Jesus and He healed me.

Luke.8:43-48 KJV/University of Michigan Press

[43] And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any,
[44] Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched.
[45] And Jesus said, Who touched me? When all denied, Peter and they that were with him said, Master, the multitude throng thee and press thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?
[46] And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me.
[47] And when the woman saw that she was not hid, she came trembling, and falling down before him, she declared unto him before all the people for what cause she had touched him and how she was healed immediately.
[48] And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace.

John.12:37-40 KJV/University of Michigan Press

[37] But though he had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on him:
[38] That the saying of Esaias the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spake, Lord, who hath believed our report? and to whom hath the arm of the Lord been revealed?
[39] Therefore they could not believe, because that Esaias said again,
[40] He hath blinded their eyes, and hardened their heart; that they should not see with their eyes, nor understand with their heart, and be converted, and I should heal them.

And so...by the time that I finished reading Hal Lindsey's third book, There is a New World Coming,my spirit had gained enough information to see again that my sins were forgiven by virtue of our Lord's work on the Cross. My spirit lept up and received the healing power of God which literally exploded the weight of the world off of my shoulders setting my soul free to serve the Lord. "Now I can serve the Lord," I exclaimed!

Well, noble and all that, but in no way was I equipped to serve the Lord at that time. Enlightenment would come later. But I was really hungry for more knowledge of the Bible. It simply wasn't made available to me at that time. I just didn't know what books to buy that might help me understand spiritual things. Soooooo...I bought and read books by Edgar Cayce. They were not helpful...which was for the best...after all...I was just a novice.

End Part Three

It is most certainly far better to die in faith believing, than it is to live in unbelief.
