The Law of the Spirit of Life

Hosted by Saint 701 ... This forum is for the purpose of examining the subject of Grace and its great place in God's work in the body of Christ Jesus of which we are a part. "The Book of Romans" was chosen for the title since that book is so rich in Grace to us, but in no way is this forum limited in examining Grace to only the "Book of Romans."

Hello Christianity Oasis, All...

It is not widely known or understood that the Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus is incredibly more powerful than the Law of Sin and Death, the reasons being many of course. But for the purpose of this article the Law of the Spirit of Life is in itself a cure for two things we often lack when gaining more knowledge of the work of God our Heavenly Dad in saving us. Those two things are wisdom and understanding. Solomon made it clear to us in his writings that we need to make the getting of wisdom and understanding a priority in our life, but how often do we study scripture with the purpose of gaining those two great spiritual things? Not often enough I should say, but our topic of today begs us to allow it to increase our wisdom and gain understanding of the magnificent and wonderful thing God created within it to save us.

Rom.8 [2] For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
Rev.11 [11] And after three days and an half the Spirit of life from God entered into them, and they stood upon their feet; and great fear fell upon them which saw them.

A few weeks back I was given the topic the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus to write about. At the time I only knew of the one scripture on the subject found in the Book of Romans chapter eight. That made me wonder if it was the only reference to the law. Thankfully, when I checked my University of Michigan online KJV concordance I discovered that it wasn't. The second reference was in the Book of Revelation. That surprised me a little because I hadn't noticed it before, and upon reading the scripture containing the topic I was more than just a little bit startled to say the least. I say startled because my eyes were opened to see the law at work on the behalf of two of God's wonderful sons.

In Revelation 11:11 we are given two more witnesses to the resurrection of Jesus Christ, not just in simply saying there are two more witnesses to the resurrection of Jesus Christ, as in adding two more to the number of those that observed our Lord after He was raised from the dead...after all many saw him and touched him, but in Revelation 11 we see two more of God's household literally raised from the dead, and not just raised from the dead for us to see, but raised from the dead right before our eyes, the purpose being that we might gain the wisdom and the understanding we need to be more certain than ever that we have been made safe in the power of God made mighty through the Law of the Spirit of LIfe in Christ Jesus.

As noted...the resurrection of the two witnesses in Rev.11:11 happened for the purpose of increasing our wisdom and understanding, wisdom in that we are given a vision of a work of God that will happen some time in the future that pertains to us. The Apostle John gave us a similar vision. In it he showed us our future in Christ Jesus, saying to us that when we see our Lord we shall be like Him. Here in 11:11 we are shown a vision of our resurrection, not that our resurrection will be as that of the two witnesses visually, but that our resurrection form the dead is made as certain as that of the two witnesses...through the Law of the Spirit of Life. Seeing into our future in Christ Jesus is our wisdom...

In the vision of the two witnesses we are given this understanding. Through the faithful obedience of our magnificent Lord and Savior Jesus Christ God created an incredible power enacted through a new and greater law than that of sin and death. Through that law, the Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus, our God and Father once and for all time established this fact, that all that maintain their faith that God raised up Christ Jesus from the dead shall be resurrected from the dead and made alive forever more in Him. We understand this...we are protected from damnation by the law of God! The Law of God is the Law of the Spirit of Life in Him and Christ Jesus!

Summing things up...seeing our future in Christ Jesus is our wisdom...knowing there is a law in place to protect us and assure us of our salvation gives us understanding.

Blessings!
Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is well pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
Love, in Christ Jesus, Saint701.
It is most certainly far better to die in faith believing, than it is to live in unbelief.
