Great Fight of Afflictions...
by saint701 » Mon Feb 01, 2010 12:49 pm
Hi Wondefuls!
Blessings!
It would seem this is going to be a long post and worked out over time. I write it to encourage all that are suffering to have the mindset in you that was in our Lord Jesus and the Holy Apostles to continue in tribulation without turning back. I write this knowing some of us must endure here in sufferings until the end of our lives. There is no turning back even though we remain here through the tribulation period, and this gospel of the kingdom must be preached in all the world as a witness, that only those enduring to the end shall be saved.
And this is why I write this as I know some of us must remain here during the tribulation period and it should not surprise us if any day such should begin as the signs of sorrows are everywhere. I have been following Angeltear's beautiful explanation of the great earthquake that signals the onset of that dreadful day of the Lord. So I share what I share here to remind all of the sufferings we are called to, that we resist unto the shedding of our blood if it be His will for us.
Let us remember all those before us that have been so called, and let us remember in our own lives how we have been made to suffer for His name sake. I say that some of us must endure during the tribulation because of to whom the promise is made that they will not suffer so, even those of the church of Philadelphia? And is that not just one of seven? And of the seven, some of Smyrna suffer tribulation 10 days, while those of Thyatira are warned of tribulation to come upon them, and those of Sardis are warned they are not prepared for His coming.
So let us not think more highly of ourselves than those that have gone before us who shed their blood for us being examples to us of how we should think, even that we should overcome by the blood of the lamb, the word of our testimony, and love our lives not unto death, glorying not in our great fortune, but in our sufferings.
Hebrews 10:32-33 32 - But call to remembrance the former days, in which, after ye were illuminated, ye endured a great fight of afflictions;
33 - Partly, whilst ye were made a gazingstock both by reproaches and afflictions; and partly, whilst ye became companions of them that were so used.
John 16:33 - These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
Acts 14:22 - Confirming the souls of the disciples, [and] exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God.
Romans 5:3 - And not only [so], but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;
9 - I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.
1 Thessalonians 3:4 - For verily, when we were with you, we told you before that we should suffer tribulation; even as it came to pass, and ye know.
Blessings!

Here Paul reminds us of what we endure because we have become enlightened. This past year has been my year of enlightenment. Such speaks to an age of maturity when we become accountable before the Lord for our actions. There is no turning back, as at this point forsaking the Lord, i.e., telling Him to go away, is the end of the road of salvation. There is no way back after this. This is that sin unto death that John talks about, and can only be committed by those that have received the Holy Ghost, exercised their senses to discern good and evil, been enlightened, tasted the good gift and the powers of the world to come. (Hebrews 6).
It is also called the sin of the devil because the devil did eat of the Tree of Life and then tell Him they didn't want Him as they could live forever without Him. Such occurs when a man or woman of full age discerns the leading of the devil in a thing and willfully and knowingly does what the devil has tempted him or her to do. It is called a sin unto death as death is not immediate, but progressive.
First of all the devil enters the portal of the mind that has been opened and takes possession of the soul, perverting it to the point all light is lost. Once all light is lost the soul tells the Lord to depart. At this point it is the end of that person because the devil retakes possession of the spirit. Spiritual death has occured.
This book of Hebrews is a warning to us who must endure suffering against finding ourselves back under the law of sin and death as the Hebrews, it seems here, were being tempted to do. Such is why Paul reminds them of what they had already suffered, Heb. 10:32-33.
Many Christians are tripped up believing they have committed the unpardonable sin. Most can't as most fall asleep before reaching maturity. This is one of Satan's tools used to discourage believers that are new or young.
Paul says of those born of God, that they, (their Spirit), keeps them and they sin not or do not make a practice of sin. We might miss God on a matter from time to time, but we don't do it intentionally. We just don't know everything yet. But if we discern the presence of the devil attempting to lead us in our actions, we must resist going in that direction.
