Hello All,

Blessings!

At its inception Christianity was a religion of love, suffering and forgiveness. The basics included turn the other cheek. Bless and pray for those that persecute and despitefully use you so that you may be the sons of God. Jesus made himself our chief example, asking forgiveness of God as he was shamefully driven to the cross of Calvary for those responsible for his affliction. His disciples did likewise. It is said that poor Peter requested he be crucified upside down as he was not worthy of the dignity afforded his master and savior to be tortured upright. Such undying devotion begs the question, why?

What have we lost of knowing God, the suffering savior of mankind, that begs to be reintroduced in every denomination and belief system of Christianity world wide? In this day we might think if our Lord appeared to the Apostle Paul, such would occur on I-80. There, our Lord would announce to Paul of the great riches and honor soon to be bestowed upon him in his service to God, not the great sufferings Paul was to endure for him.

What have we lost of knowing God that drove apostles, prophets, pastors, and teachers; artisans, servants, husbands, and wives to endure hellacious ignominious deaths at the hands of the Roman dictator Nero? In this day and age we seem to have no clue. We laugh! We scoff! Such is all nonsense to us! Where are the Peters and Pauls? Perhaps we need to understand what drove them now more than we can possibly imagine. But is not such found in scripture? That we might be the sons of God?
