Christianity Oasis Forum

Hosted by Saint 701 ... This forum is for the purpose of examining the subject of Grace and its great place in God's work in the body of Christ Jesus of which we are a part. "The Book of Romans" was chosen for the title since that book is so rich in Grace to us, but in no way is this forum limited in examining Grace to only the "Book of Romans."

Get Out Of Jail Free Cards

Greetings All,

*AngelYellow*
Blessings!

Not to trivialize our sufferings...emotional trama is real. Grief is real. These things can be so overwhelming at times we are at a loss as to what to do. Thoughts of suicide may enter our mind. Contacting our spiritual family is out of the question for us. We are too ashamed and too embarrassed by our perceived failure to share our problem(s) with them or anyone else for that matter. We are supposed to be able to do all things through Christ Jesus who strenthens us, but in our condition we find that we cannot. It seems as though we have been locked in a prison and are totally helpless without any hope of escape. We can't reason. Our will has dissappeared. We are crushed with the weight of our pain. Not only do we feel hopeless and helpless, we feel condemned. We feel alienated from our spiritual family. We feel separated from God and alone as though in a deep, dark, pit. We may not be willing or able to admit it to ourselves, but our situation has become an emergency. We need compassionate, loving, and understanding care. We need help, and we need it fast.

Where do we turn? Let's back up a few steps. All else aside, if we are not unconcious, we must have the knowledge within us that, "Oh yes we can do all things through Christ Jesus that strengthens us!" We may have misplaced it momentarily but such is still there.

But, but..I am in a deep dark pit..the light isn't shining through..I can't find Jesus within or without..such is a fallacy, a wrong assumption; for in truth the light is shining all around you
.."if"..
we have found ourselves a good church home in the community where we live, or on television, or online. If we ourselves are indeed Christians we must be connected somewhere. Most all in that "somewhere" are
CHRIST JESUS!!
And our touching anything in our Father's house that we should ask and agree to with just two of us, Jesus is standing right there in our midst to see to it we get what we've asked for. (Matt: 18:19, etc.)

We must understand that what our feelings are telling us has no validity before God.
Jesus is His Word.(Can you see that? Can you see that Jesus is the Word of God? Can you see that God Almighty and His Word are inseparable?
and our guarantee of mercy and grace granted to us by our Heavenly Father.
Therefore, our first get out of jail free card is the act of touching our church family or a church family, a Christian help line, or hot line.
I remember one time the woman that divorced me took our three young children and disappeared for a week. I was devastated. I had many of the feelings described above crawling in me and all over me. I had to reach out to someone despite the fact that I felt hopeless and full of guilt. We had just moved from one town to another and did not yet have a new church home. Now since 1979 when I was filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke in tongues by the operation of the same through a 700 Club counselor, I have always carried their crisis hotline phone number safely tucked away in my mind. So I called them. Some grouchy middle aged woman answered my call, and after I summarized my problem to her, she began to smack me down good. Ouch! Now what I thought? Well, I wasn't going to be denied help. I needed it, and I knew help from our Lord belonged to me. So I called the 700 Club crisis hotline phone number again. This time I got hold of a middle aged woman walking after the Spirit instead of the flesh. Now it wasn't five minutes after I prayed the prayer of agreement with her for immediate help in my situation that a voice popped off inside me and said, "I'm going to come over there and help get you out of that mess." I assumed the voice was that of a ministering angel sent to the 700 Club to act on their petitions on behalf of others. To make a long story short, within a week's time my family was restored to me and we were progressing marvelously in solving other problems with my elderly aunt who had Altzheimer's and my mother who could no longer manage her. Therefore, the first get out of jail free card is touch Jesus who lives in us who are His body on this Earth. (FYI, 700 club help line if you can't raise someone on Christianity Oasis or other home church right away. 1-800-759-0700.)

The second get out of jail free card is closely alligned with card number one. Number one is an action. Seek help! Number two is an understanding. It's a great scripture and I love it so much. Of course all scriptures that give us understanding or tell us how to act are great, but this particular scripture along with the three that follow it make up one key that unlocks the Kingdom of Heaven. It is/they are...

Rom.8
[1] There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

[2] For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
[3] For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:

[4] That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

The understanding is this..the moment you take one step toward our Lord standing on His Word through His Spirit you are walking after the Spirit,
"AND THERE IS NO CONDEMNATION FOR YOU!"
That first step you took was an act of walking after the Spirit and (verse 4) made you immediately in right standing with God whether you feel like it or not. Why are you righteous? You are righteous because you believed and walked after the Spirit. You are not condemned before God, period! So let us take the advice of the Apostle Paul.

Jas.5
1.[16] Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

It is most certainly far better to die in faith believing, than it is to live in unbelief.
