praise God!! I'm only on day two of this Christian counseing path and I have already been so encouraged and empowered by the Lord. God is so good and Awesome!!!
First I would like to say thank you for those of you who have been reading my journal blog, and giving me such encouraging words, wisdom and prayers. Thank you for being God's faithful servants. The Lord has blessed me because of your obedience to Him. Amen
Here are a few of my thoughts from todays stepping stone #2 on the path. As I'm sure a lot of us can relate to, I have seen myself in all the scenarios in Matt. 13's parables. The one I feel that has lead me to this recent financial trouble that I've found my self in, is me being the seed that is in the Word, but entangled in the weeds of the worlds cares and deceitfulness of riches. My focus for getting me in this financial mess has been on the media with its credit card commercials and focusing on materials to bring joy and pleasure rather than focusing on God's Word and Spiritual riches, which are far more rewarding than worldly gain and riches.
Again, this study is so rewarding and helps me weed my mind and remember what is really the most important. GOD!!!!! As my Aunt has always told me about our spiritual walk with the Lord, we are either growing forward in the Lord or growing backwards. There is no sitting still in our spiritual growth. Of course meaning if we don't weed our minds with scripture and prayers daily the weed's will stunt our growth and we will go backwards.
I do feel renewed. It felt so good in day one blog to just confess and get it all out in the open. As stated here in day 2's step, half the battle is admitting you have a problem. and today I feel empowered by God that I can change my bad spending habit by focusing daily on spiritual satisfaction instead of material satisfaction. There is no doubt that the spiritual out weighs the material in satisfaction by far. For spiritual is more satisfying and eternal as to material being less satisfying and temporal.
Praise God for His patience, mercy, forgiveness, and wisdom when we seek Him! Amen. (meg)
