Christianity Oasis Forum

This forum is for those who are 18 years of age or older. This forum is a sanctuary for those who are experiencing trials and tribulation and seek words of wisdom, comfort and TRUTH from fellow Christians who have experienced similar trials and tribulation and have overcome them. Never forget that we ALL fall down as we sojourn down this Christian Walk. The trick is to get up and carry on fighting the good fight of FAITH. One of the greatest gifts that our Father gave to Christians is ... Fellow Christians. James 5:16 ... Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much ...

Day 9

Postby Sylvia » Sun Jan 06, 2008 6:07 pm

I liked several things about this step. I liked the verse Luke 7:47 "Her sins which are many are forgiven, because she shows much love; but to whom little is forgiven, they show little love."
When I read that I thought right off of when I first came on this site. I right away went to Real Solutions and posted my former problem with alcohol. When I got the response I did from Realtmg, I right away read his testimony. Then I knew this is where I belonged. If Realtmg had not ever gone through what he had, I would never have come back to this site.
Thank you Realtmg and Thank you Jesus!
Another thing I liked was the statement "healing is a progressive miracle, not something thats going to happen all at once."
I think I first started to get healed back when I gave up all music except Christian music. I battle depression and I found all other music makes me depressed. I listen to the words. (my husband never does!) I don't feel every Christian needs to give up all music but Christian. But for me it was the best choice. When I heard "Set Me Free" by Casting Crowns I knew God was speaking to my heart. God has always used music to speak to me. Maybe because I had a musical family. My Dad played guitar and my Mom was the church organist and choir director.
One other thing I wanted to add which is going back to my posting of Day 8; God giving me the verse Isaiah 45:2 "I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight; I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder sthe bars of iron." After I posted my long post of Day 8 God again spoke to me about something I had forgotten to add. This was that He goes Before us; He knows the way that we take (Jeremiah 31:34B) and He goes before us to fix the messes we make. When we ask His forgiveness; He has already gone before us and fixed everything. Thinking of this sure has helped me in my problems with fear. God doesn't only have a plan; He has already gone before us to do it!
All we have to do is Trust Him, have faith. I am so happy right now I could yell hallelujah! So believe it or not I am yelling Hallelujah!!

Wow Sylvia, how awesome to see how far you have come since you first arrived at the Oasis. I'm so glad you are part of our family now. Isn't real great? He has taken all his past and turned it into something he can use for the Lord. I too, see you doing this. Your spirit is already rejoicing at the things He is doing in your life.

Take care sis and God Bless
