Ex 20:5, 5. You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the fathers to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me,

Taken from the book The Believer's Guide To Spiritual Warfar by Thomas B. White
This is not word for word...

1. recognize sources, or entry points, of possible oppression.
Such as a family history of alcohol, worry, anger, sexual impurity, envy, hatrid, ect.

2. Pray according to the instruction of Leviticus 26:40,42
Confess your own sins, and those of your fathers, especially sins related to rebellion against God and htred of others. When the Israelites did this in a spirit of humility, God said he would remember his covenant with Jacob and remember the land. In short, there will be a restoration of divine favor.

3. Deliberately forgive those in your ancestry who sinned.
Give up any grudges or unforgiveness, bring resolution to strained relationships.

4. partake of the Lord's supper. There is power released in the observance of communion.

5. Pray with tthe authority in Jesus name to separate your life (and your Children's lives) from the sins of forrmer generations.

Here is an example taken from the book of how you may pray...
Heavenly Father, I confess the wickness of my earthly father (mother) their sins of _______________ . I forsake and seporate myself and my children from those sins. God be gracious to me. I now apply the power of the blood of Jesus to break all curses and consequences of evil that may have ever entered my family. In Jeus Name. Amen!

Hope this helps.
