Trying to get right w/ God. Day 3

So, God has revealed to me the repercussion of failing to love my neighbors, failing to forgive them of their shortcomings, failing to trust God. The people that have hurt me in the past seemed to move on, but God wants us to accept His Grace and do the same. With the same measures that I've extended to others, I've seen the consequences. It's bitter. Disgusting. Unpleasant.
I've always thought life was a bitter concept. Deal with it. Hardships, Struggles, Betrayal, Ignorance.
Now, I've learned that Christ died for the very sin that I committed. I failed to extend forgiveness and love. I've been living the life of the Old Testament. Eye for an eye. Tooth for a tooth. Forgetting that Christ died for me too. Accepting God's Grace will be another challenge for today. How do I accept something that I never freely gave to others??? If Christ went as far as to pay the price to die for our sins, I think Christ can also find a way to deliver His love and mercy to us. So for every pain that I received from my earliest childhood until now, I'll need to stop dwelling on the events of the past. Like King David, there are consequences to my actions. But Jesus died for me not for the purpose of abandonment, but to forgive us and lead the way of our life. Life without love is bitter. Christ died with His love for us.
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8
I've been walking as a Christian for a long time, but as I have revealed hatred and anger towards the people around me is quite embarrassing. I'm sure I shocked a lot of people. Lord, have mercy. Thank you for the cross. Please help me untangle this mess. ~In Jesus name I pray, Amen.
