God is speaking to me about giving grace and mercy to others and forgive them, as I want to be forgiven.

There can be no doubt that this is something that the vast majority of Christians have struggled with at one time or another.

Here is a little tip. It might not be of any use to you, but on the off chance it might be useful, I would like to share it with you.

Of course, we've all seen others commit sins and do wrongs, as we have done such things ourselves. None of us are worthy of forgiveness, yet, as you no doubt already know, the ultimate forgiveness is offered to us scot-free through Christ's sacrifice.

To get to the point, as someone who has struggled with this very same issue during my own life, I think it is a really good idea to remember how Christ pleaded to God to forgive his killers during his crucifiction. In this way, for us mere mortals, forgiving someone is essentially more about honouring God, and his perfect role-model son, than musing too much over a person and what they might or shouldn't have done.

Of course, this sounds easy enough regarding 'minor' sins, but when we talk about the worst kinds of things that us human beings can do, then it can be a really complicated matter for us.

Forgiving is hard. Forgiving ourselves is even harder most times. Along with the suggestions here, i just wanna add what helps me to forgive. We ALL live in a broken world. We ALL have the same enemy of our souls using each and every tool and tactic he can to hurt one another. We ALL are in need of His saving grace. Those who have hurt you...they are just as need of Him as we are. Somewhere, in this broken world, someone hurt them. We are all so imperfect that alot of times, we dont even realize we have hurt them until it's done..if we ever know it at all. About forgiving ourselves.....wow.....if God, Himself forgives me...and Christ died for it all...who am I to say that God has forgiven everything but......

Ask Him to help you in this. Decide to forgive and ask Him to help you. Each time someone or something comes into your mind, pray about it and leave it at the foot of the cross and let Him remind you that this is why He died for us. Bless those who have hurt you by praying for them and remember that they are just as in need of Him and His life-changing ways as we are. God bless you in this, kl. You are so not alone in it.

Good to hear. He's been talking to me about this too. I have found I need His help forgiving. He's been softening my heart. Perhaps praying that He softens your heart towards these people will help.

Gods good and perfect will be done in your life. God loves you and so do I!
