what day is it ?
Posted: Tue Mar 10, 2009 1:02 pmI was going to start this off as day 1 - again - type of tile for a subject , but experience tells me there is no such thing .
I had learnt , and still practise , the same principles of a 12 stp. prog . as I do this one , which by the way are very similar . the 12th step reads as , "having had a spiritual awakening as a result of these steps , we try to practice them in All of our daily affairs ", so seeing it in that perspective , there is no such thing as "go back and do it again" type situation , since I'm supposed to practise ALL of the steps Everyday , in Everything I do, including harm done by others. That , is the main purpose it was suggested by truly caring people I met here at OASIS .
In addition to the 12 steps , the support group I'm involved in also has 12 Traditions to be practised as well , and the 12th of that one suggests that we place these principles (stps & trdtns) befor personalities.
It's that tradition , that I had neglected to heed , that led me back into this warfare that I found myself engaged in, and my focus being directed to winning-at-all-cost , and getting even , an-eye-for-an-entire-head aditude that I had been carrying, led me right back to where I was the first time I found myself typing in this forum.
Well, maybe if I was to type the extent of the gratitude I'd like to express to God , OASIS , and all of the COOLies (in that order) that are going out of their way to lend Jesus' hand to me before sinking , and just "cut-n-paste" b'tween the lines , my fingers would not be as sore afterwards.
Now, on with it , Inability to forgive other's actions that were taken which all but seperated me from God once again , is (or should I say was) the main reason of receiving that suggestion as God's will for me to do so. Just by reading step 1 made me realize how far off I had veered from His purpose for me and totally neglected it , 'cause I was too wrapped up in figuring out how to take matters in my own hands and get away with it , and needless to say, upon taking a good look , and as , I think it was Pete , that said , examine yourself , no, 'twas David , in one of his psalms, something like "examine me Lord and create in me a pure heart" (dont rember the exact words , the the concept is the same ) , I found a full scale tornado is in progress inside.
Well, the first thing I read in day 1 was, IF OUR LORD CAN CALM THE SEA ...
IMAGINE WHAT HE CAN DO FOR YOUR SOUL .
Hmmm. Buuut , immediatly I go "yeah but , my case ..." then I read Matthew 17:20
"and nothing shall be impossible unto you." "..."ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove" I'm going ok , ok , I got it already ! sheeze ! and almost left it at that right ?
That's when it dawned on me "hey , vahn , you're trying to take matters in your own hands and you are feeling GUILTY about it , that's what your problem is , you're going back into that " step aside Lord, I'll take it from here" atitude , which you know darn well that it not the the way to go about this, for "Vengence is MINE ," says the Lord , and here I am steppin in to His biz once again.
So, I get back , an d read more , and I start laughing ...Matthew 18:3
Verily I say unto you, Except ye become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven"
