Hi, I wonder if anyone can give me advice, I have just recently started going to church after a 30 yr absence, back then I was pushed into entering the mormon faith, but it was what other people wanted, not what I wanted for myself, so I am going to a small christian church, doing an alpha course designed to help me explore christianity, and its feeling great, except that im waiting for a eureka moment, I feel like im really only dipping my toes into christianity, will there be a moment when I, ll know absolutely that this is for me, that god has found me, or I, ve found him, I had a blessing at my church to this end on sunday, and my vicar tells me to be patient and not force it, but I so want to feel like this is what I, ve been waiting for all my life, does anyone have any advice they could give, im 50, so its feeling like time is running out, I hope someone can help.

Christianity isn't about feelings. Many people do have this amazing high when they get saved. Many do not. Christianity is about you giving your all to Christ.

As you seek God, in study, prayer and worship, you will grow in strength. But if you did not receive a Eureka moment when you first accepted Christ, then you probably won't.

Love for the opposite sex is similar. Many people have love at first site. Mostly, that doesn't work out well. Well, being in love with Christ can be the same - look at the parable of the seed. Some people get all excited at first and when the excitement wears off they are gone.

Back when there was hardly any divorce, Elizabeth Taylor married 7 or more times. People were scandalized. She was worse than Henry the Eighth. She said that she liked being in love. And when that feeling wore off, and it always does, she didn't want to be married any more. She married one man twice - Julius Ceaser ... can't think of his name.

Anyway, roller coaster thrills are nice - but they don't last. And not everybody gets them at all.

Deep love is an amazing thing. Solid. Lasting. Something to depend upon. Better than the fireworks and roller coasters.

Walking with God is a process. God has your life mapped out for you, and if you're searching you'll be ok. God continually gives us chances to trust in Him, He wants nothing more than for You to choose Him. Whether you're 5 years old, 50, or 80, we have nothing to fulfill except to accept what Jesus has done for us on the cross.

When I first accepted Jesus into my heart, it simply felt like a light bloomed inside me, but since then I've been all over the place with my faith ... from completely doubting God exists to complete faith in His Love over my life, and everything in between! I think what's important is to be real with yourself and real with God and realize that this is a process. Sometimes there are serious doubts and questions, but the beautiful thing about God is that He never lets us go. And those struggles, questions, lack of a 'eureka' moment can lead to a deep faith and trust in Him.
