This forum is a sanctuary for those who are experiencing trials and tribulation and seek words of wisdom, comfort and TRUTH from fellow Christians who have experienced similar trials and tribulation and have overcome them. Never forget that we ALL fall down as we sojourn down this Christian Walk. The trick is to get up and carry on fighting the good fight of FAITH. Day 2

Postby JohnR » Mon May 28, 2012 3:15 pm

I just finished Stepping Stone 2 & completely read Renewing Your Mind....Whoa!!! Now I know why I stay so sick because getting better takes work! And I'm not too big on doing work. If I was to make a list of my sins, sloth would probably be at the top of the list. If you look at my profile I list TV/movies as my interests because they take little to no effort. Before getting to this site I was out of work & very depressed. I found the Celebrate Recovery program thru the internet, had just over a month in the program, was feeling much better, & was able to find a job thru them. The only problem is the job involved working nights so I was no longer able to attend meetings. Well it didn’t take long before I stopped reading the bible, praying, & then fall back into bad habits. This isn’t the 1st time this has happened either. Back in the late 90’s I got involved with & active with a good Christian bible based church. Well that didn’t last too long before events conspired to cause me to fall away. I 1st accepted Christ in my early 20’s but because I lived as a carnal Christian that also didn’t last before not only did I fall away but found myself worse than before I had gotten sober. Satan seems to be really good at knowing my weaknesses & exploiting them. I’m like the seed that falls amongst the weeds! I keep thinking about what the Lord said about those who lack commitment & what will happen to them. I don’t want to die having lived a life that was totally meaningless. To simplify the renewing program I’m going to combine mind, body, & spirit chart & also work thru my Celebrate Recovery program books. I’m really tired of being sick & tired!!!
Please pray that the Lord will give me strength to carry on & stick to my commitment.

Just take it step at a time John and if you slip just get back at it again. His grace is sufficient.
