Christ in the midst of suffering....
As some might know I was sled astray from my belief in the Lord around 9 yrs. ago and ever since then I have battled whether God gave me over to the devil never to return. The thoughts I have are horrible and very stressful. Sometimes the Lord shows me that he is in the middle of this battle with me and it relieves my soul but shortly after that I feel the see of hope be stolen in my heart. I want to be good soil that the Lord can plant and grow fruit for his glory. Sometimes I am in utter despair and then other days are tolerable but it seems that I never have continued days of peace and joy. Is this a sign that something could have happened to me that I cannot get away from?

Re: Christ in the midst of suffering....
Hello hun,
I don't think it's a sign...God wants you to have peace...you remember the story of the disciples and Jesus going out on the water in a boat...and Jesus fell asleep...and a huge storm came and Jesus was awaken to the disciples calling him saying they were going to drown? Jesus awoke and said oh ye of little faith...
I think if you will grow in your trust with the Lord...and rely more upon Him...and have the belief that He can help you through anything...and through Him you can overcome...you will begin to find the daily peace you seek...but it's truly about you having to let go and let God...and until you are able to do that...you will continue to ride the roller coaster.
Praying for you.
luv ya

That's the problem I don't know how to let it go. Not when it is the first thing I think of when I wake and the last thing I think of at bed. I don't want to feel so depressed. I know what I want to do. I want to let it go and let God take care of it. And I have prayed for years for this to happen. Still I suffer, and in some ways I think it is getting worse not better. Thanks for your e-mail. Steve

Re: Christ in the midst of suffering....
Hello Akita,
God bless you this day.
Steve, I want to talk to you, straight up!!!
If you had blasphemed The Holy Spirit, you would not give a rip if God loved you or not, nor would you be the least bit concerned over having been led away from God for that time. Steve, please read that sentence again.
Think about that.
No one's life is a cakewalk. Life in this world is hard. And yes, the enemy nips at our heals and tries to plant negative stuff in our minds all the time. I love God's peace and His joy, but I don't have it every minute of every day, and do you know why that is? It is because I still default to my carnal self, because I still have this carnal flesh body, and sometimes I get distracted by the chaos, and the desires of my carnal mind, and yes -- at times the enemy of our souls sets his target on me, and I live in a sin-fallen world. I still have a choice to believe in my Lord and Saviour Jesus, or not. I choose to believe in Him, and His love and His mercy and His blessed grace, and to believe that The Holy Spirit of God is inside of me, and He is changing me, and that I have His seal on and in me.
Steve, you still have that same choice. Fight!!! Fight the good fight of faith. SPREAD the Good News.
Jesus asked Peter...do you love Me? Peter said, yes Lord, I love You. Jesus said "Feed My sheep."
Steve, Jesus asks us the same, and His reply is the same...Feed My sheep. What are we gonna feed them, Steve? The Good News!!! Love His sheep, Steve. Share His Word and His love with His sheep -- your fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.
Faith is the substance of things HOPED for, the evidence of things unseen. Focus on what you want, not what you don't want.
Prayers continue to rise to our Lord on your behalf. May God's blessed and perfect will be done.
God bless and keep you.
Love,
Sister Mack

I want to make a suggestion...that you surround yourself with some Bible verses that talks of the Lord's love for you around the area where you awaken...put them on your bathroom mirror...any place you can read them over and over when ill thoughts try to come at you in the morning and at night...replace bad thoughts with good...you can do this.

Re: Christ in the midst of suffering....
Forgive me for having my own little pity party. It's just that my experience with the cult was so traumatic and I have not been able to fully get past it. I know the Lord will use it as he sees fit. I just never knew that my faith would be tested like this, constantly.....and I would fail him so many times.

Oh hun, all of us go through a test of faith...just as the disciples did...their faith was tested often and sometimes through tough trials...it's during these times you need to seek God more and more...as He is the way through the trials.
