Being Green
Today was challenging.
I met my wifes boyfriend today. He was a nice guy but 22 years older than my wife. I hope that they both realize this thing isn't right and that my family is healed, but I have given this over to God.
I avoided meeting my wifes boyfriend yesterday. It felt like it would really upset me to have him become more than a name to me. Then I thought about the words of Jesus that we are to love even our enemies. I told my wife it was up to him and he coud meet me if he liked.
When I was getting my daughter back from my wife he came up and shook my hand. He seemed genuinely sympathetic to my feelings. He said that I could even stay at his house when I visited. Somehow I think that doing so would dishonor my marriage, but i realize this was meant as a kind gesture and thanked him for his kindness. Still I don't want to take him up on that offer.
A lot of tension stayed with me today and my heart felt stirred up within me but talking to some friends in Christ encouraged me so i feel a lot better now.

Oh kermitty my friend *hug*
There are some things that happen in our lives that can truly be beyond our understanding. It can seriously boggle our minds as to Why. But I am so happy to know that the peace of God is within your heart my friend, and you are allowing this to help you when making decisions, and not let anger and the like, take control of you.
God's plan for us isnt always clear, but if we hold fast to His promises, we know that He will deliver us out of the pain and hurt we go thru.
Love is the answer. Forgiveness is the answer. He is the answer. No matter what the problem is.
You are a dear friend and brother kermitty, and I know that God is gonna open up new and exciting opportunities in your life, ones that will leave you fulfilled in your heart. He is preparing you for greater things that you will do in His name, for His children and His purpose.
I pray for His will to be done in your life. What could be better ? :)
Luv u and GBU my green friend.

Lizzie,
Thank for your encouragement and prayers. You are absolutely right that God's will is best and the thing I should desire. It is so very easy for me to lean on my own understanding without even realizing it.
I know that God is for me, who then can be against me? He didn't spare his son but delivered him up for me, how will he then not along with him graciously give me all things. I know these words are true because they are the word of God (Romans8:31-32). Whatever happens there is nothing in all creation that can separate me from his love!
Romans 8:38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Dear Kermit,
I've been so inspired at the way you've sought God's will every step of the way through this nightmare you're living. I even feel weak and guilty for suggesting you should break some glass or something. Obviously, you've found a far greater way to find peace.
Noone can know exactly what God's plans are but we know for certain that He has a plan that's for your good and it's far greater than any you could devise yourself.
Thanks for being part of my life you're really encouraging.
Love ya,
Splashi

God's Indescribable gift
I was listening to a very insightful preacher on the Web and he was preaching on 2 Cor 9. This chapter is one of the best places to go for advice on how we are to give and the attitude we should have in our hearts when we do it. When we give, we are to give cheerfully and not out of a sense of obligation. 2 Cor 8 also focuses on giving and gives us the example of the Macedonian churches who gave without being asked and in spite of extreme poverty insisted on the privilege of giving. Right now I am between jobs so this hits home. I am challenged even to this day that if they gave out of their poverty, then surely I can give.
To drive his point home Paul ends his discussion of giving with this thought that has stuck with me: "15 Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift! " 2 Cor 9:15 What is this indescribable gift? It is the singular gift of Jesus Christ, the greatest gift of all. This is the example God gave to us of generous giving.
Let's all give ourselves to the Lord first as the Macedonians did and give as the Lord leads. Then we will in our giving reflect the Lord's generous character who spared not his son but delivered him up for our sakes.
As far as my life right now. I signed the divorce papers my wife gave me yesteday and sent them back to her. It was tempting to put a note in there with it to try to persuade her to change her mind, but I felt I needed to surrender this to God and let him tend to it. I still hope for healing for my family and I still love my wife with my last breath, but this is in God's hands. I woke up this morning with God's comfort being especially noticeable. He really does carry us through the toughest times as the beautiful story of the Footprints in the Sand reminds us.
