Preventive maintenance

Postby vahn » Tue Jan 26, 2010 1:50 pm

I don't know , it seems like everyone I am suggesting these steps to and them going through it , are getting better and better , I'm going "Wait a minute , why don't I try the same myself !!"

There is or are any major "issues" that I am presently having to deal with that may need immediate attention , but , however , there are a whole bunch of pressing situations that are adding up , and am finding myself more and more on the "snappy" or "quick-on-the-trigger" side of things lately . So , like the title suggests , I thought taking preventive measures would be wise before the possibility of a blow-out and/or if there is one coming . Pre - vent right ?

Taking stock , do inventory , see what's up . Uncover , Discover and Discard , is what I got the last time I went through those steps , and I am not one bit ashamed , embarrassed or otherwise having to go through them again , in fact , I do and suggest to everyone I work with through my other 12th step program to go through them on an annual or semi-annual basis , just to keep ourselves in check .

So . Here I am .

The major factor that prompted me to decide is the fact that , a certain reprimand I received at work , though not my fault at all and the reasons of which is nothing but mere administrative mumbo-jumbo and had absolutely nothing to do with actions I took (my part) , but nevertheless , lately I'm finding myself more and more preoccupied with the instance , to the point where I pulled the file of the previous offers I had received in regards to my present occupation , and actually made the call to two of them . Then again I got to thinking "Why am I doing this ? There's nothing wrong with where you are , there's nothing they or you did that was out of whack , why are you retaliating ? "
Well , couple those thoughts and the applications of which on two other situations that are "minor" in nature , but I also know all too well , many "minors" become one big "major" if they keep adding up and not tended to promptly . So , onward I go , putting one foot in front of the other , and see what happens .

Don't know if I am to post on a daily basis or not , but today I did , and its a one day at a time thing anyway , tomorrow will take care of itself . Besides , it is my hope that others will see what I am doing and maybe get them encouraged as well .

Vahn...how awesome!

As you know I just finished the steps for the second time a little over 3 weeks ago now. Something I saw in the steps this time around was to not let my mind become so preoccupied with something that it begins to weigh me down...for example this small reprimand at work...you can allow yourself to dwell on it and think about it continually...til you become bitter or you can let it go and think on good things...like what's for dinner tonight rofl j/k but actually good things like how much Jesus loves you.

Enjoy your journey through the steps again vahn. They are really really great.

luv ya

good to see u back brother vahn.

Its so funny, i just replied to a post by iwantedtodie, and i posted the song by christie lane, One day at a time, then i come here and see those very words in ur post.

So maybe its for u also today :)

I'm only human, I'm just a woman.
Help me believe in what I could be
And all that I am.
Show me the stairway, I have to climb.
Lord for my sake, teach me to take
One day at a time.

Chorus:
One day at a time sweet Jesus
That's all I'm asking from you.
Just give me the strength
To do everyday what I have to do.
Yesterday's gone sweet Jesus
And tomorrow may never be mine.
Lord help me today, show me the way
One day at a time.

Praise be to God for His Mercy and Long suffering towards us.

GBU brother *hug*
