How do you pass the real test?????? Day 3

Postby Guest » Mon Jan 25, 2010 1:04 pm

How do you pass the real test.......To see if you will get up, dust yourself off, carry on and never surrender. For me this is a hard question as I know that when i get down.....it's easy for me to give up and not try anymore. Doubt sets in. frustration mounts...and voices within cry out that I can't do this anymore..that I am a failure so why keep trying.

I'm going to go ahead and type all of this out..which was written on the day 3. I think this is something that i really need to believe for myself before trying to move on.

Our sins cannot outdo God's grace. If you are sorry for your sins and repent to God through Jesus' name there is not effort whatsovever required of you to obtain God's grace. It's a miracle that is already yours, all you have to do is accept it. God doesn't ask us to jump through hoops or stand on our head to be forgiven. He doesn't demand that we work hard to win His love back. He just asks that we believe that Jesus paid the price for our sins on the cross and that God raised him from the dead. It's so simple, yet many people choose to believe or are convinced into believing that they are not able to be forgiven for their sins. These souls need only trust in His grace.

Accept the truth that God does forgive you for all of your sins If you repent and mean it with your heart. You must also forgive yourself. Christians are not perfect. We all fall down but the trick is to get up, dust yourself off and carry on. Here is truth. All past saints are just sinners that fell down and got up.

I'm really not sure where I stand in this. I'm not even sure of my salvation and know that I need to receive God's forgiveness. I know that I carry a huge amount of anger towards God because of a rape that happened in my life as well as growing up with a very controlling and manipulative father to which i still deal with today at 38 years old.

Shannon you said,

I'm really not sure where I stand in this. I'm not even sure of my salvation and know that I need to receive God's forgiveness. I know that I carry a huge amount of anger towards God because of a rape that happened in my life as well as growing up with a very controlling and manipulative father to which i still deal with today at 38 years old.

Your salvation you can be sure of. God's forgiveness is there just for the asking. Yes being raped can make a person very angry. We all place anger in the wrong place from time to time. God didn't rape you my friend, He was right there with you. I know that you may not believe that but He promises that He will never leave nor forsake us. I would love to talk to you some more about that if you would like to.
I have been where you are...I am 44 yrs. old and still dealing with a controlling and manipulating father. But God has me and I know that He is in the ultimate control so I just lean on him and TRUST Him to carry me through from day to day.

Jesus loves you so much and has so much for you Please forgive yourself and ask Him to help you get past all this. The devil is our enemy and he is only out to kill, steal and destroy you and your anger at Jesus is allowing him to do such.

Like I said, I understand where you are coming from. I am here for you if you need me.

Hang in there because I know that with God's help you can make it.
Love ya sis

Hey iwanted *hug*

You know sis...I am one of those that sometimes wish I could crawl in a hole and quit trying...but I can't. The reason I can't is because there are so many out there like you and me sis...that we need to set an example for. Children especially...need to know that they must carry on and never quit. I know you have a lot of anger sis...but God can take that anger from you and turn it into something better...courage...

Sis...God gave His grace for you and He loves you very much. Sis, do you believe that Jesus is the son of God and that through Jesus you can be released of your sins? This is how one reaches salvation...believing in Jesus and His forgiveness.

Jesus wants you to accept His forgiveness...to let Him come and join you in your life journey. He is reaching for you.

luv ya sis

And don't listen to those lies when they try to come up and torment you.
You recognize them for what they are now.

Hi sis *hug*

I'll use scripture to show you sis...that way you will be able to know for sure as well.

Let's begin here...

John 3:16
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

This verse means that God loves the people in the world so very much that he gave Jesus on the cross for anyone who believes in Him that they will not die..but have eternal life.

John 3:17
For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

This verse is saying that God sent Jesus not to send us all to hell...but for us to be forgiven of our sins so that we might be saved.

Romans 10:9
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

This verse says that if you confess that Jesus Christ is God's son and that you believe in him and love him and believe that he is risen then you shall be saved.

luv ya sis

Hi Shannon,

If you are anything like me, I would apply this to every other soul in the world. THEY could be saved. Jesus died for THEM. Ive sinned too much.

God is a Holy God. All sin to Him is the same..if you have been angry at your brother, or friend, or sister, you have done the same as murdering them in His eyes. He KNEW we couldnt live up to His standards of Holiness. This is the reason Christ died on that cross. His payment for our sins was and is enough. He never sinned, yet loved us so much He was willing and was passionate about bridging that gap between God and us by giving His own life in place of ours. This is how much He loves you. If there were just you, He would have done the same thing.

You are in my prayers, my sister. He loves you so very much..and is calling you to lay your burdens on Him. He is strong enough to carry them and take them away.

in Jesus,
love momo

Shannonnnnnnnnnnnn!!!! *angelbounce*

He always has led me to read your blog here, and I couldn't say anything different than what our sisters have posted here :)

I want to echo, though, two things to continue to think about thru your steps: the scripture mlg shared John 3:16, and the point momo made about ALL sin to God being the same. I too had much doubt with that for a very long time, still do on my tricky days.

But... I found out the more you live for Him and for His desire to get to know you as well as those you have the potential to bring to Him... it makes a little more sense. Even tho I for one cannot fathom the true lengths of His Love and Grace, I do believe...

You continue to be in my prayers, Shannon... keep walking and know we are here for you!

it's more than saying a prayer though sis...it's changing your heart as well...and how do you do it? Well your already on your way...the counseling steps is a beginning...as you keep pulling out weeds you will be able to plant new seeds that will be full of joy and love for Jesus.

Let God create within you a clean heart.

luv ya

yes, ya also read His word, get to know His heart so that you can replace those lies from the enemy with the truth of God's word. Ask Him to help you and He will. One thought at a time. The enemy will hit you with more lies and the same ones over and over, but you will see it for what it is. Over time, as you throw out those thoughts and replace them with what God says, your mind will be transformed. I can tell you first hand, He did it for me..and continues to do so every day.

as for asking Him in and forgiving you..yes....with a true heart, with a repentant heart, do just that. Even if you feel like He hasnt forgiven you after you've asked Him to sincerely, dont listen to it. Get your bible out and read. I love the book of Luke...and John, too. Once youve asked Him in, sis..His Holy Spirit will live within you. He will give you understanding. Ask Him to help you. Ask Him to help you in your times of fear and doubt. Keep doing it, even if the voices tell you it's pointless. Keep pushing through.

love you, my sister.

in Jesus,
love momo *Halo*
