Moving forward in Myrtle Beach, SC
Hi, I'm JTucker801. I am in Myrtle Beach and have been here for over three weeks now.
When I came here, I had been separated for a year, my wife asked for a divorce, my self-confidence had been beaten nearly to a pulp, and I was having trouble trying to start anew and keeping faith. I was also dealing with the issue of replacing my wife's rejections with pornography. I've since conquered that problem with some heavenly help, and am now looking forward to the rest of my life with God.
My pastor says I have ministry in me, so I'm usually studying when I'm not working or too tired mentally to study. I'm always listening to money related, encouragement building, work-ethic related, and introspection-related Christian podcasts. I occasionally watch a video podcast related to the Old Testament Law, as I am looking to glean it for principles that can help me enhance my walk with Christ and to build my understanding. I believe as the bible says that it was written for my learning (I Corinthians 10:11).
I grew up in a traditionally religious Church of Christ Family. I left the church because of the way the scriptures were being twisted, and sought out a new church. I ended up losing faith and in sin due to frustration. After nearly committing suicide and drowning in despair in 2004, I've been on a path back to God, although I didn't always feel like traveling on it. But I'm glad I sought Him. I believe that I've either found Him or am close to Him, and I'm not looking back. Instead, I'm moving forward - actually, running for my life kind of moving forward toward Jesus, letting faith and my spirit guide me. I have since found a wonderful church family (Wellspring Fellowship Church) whose pastor and members teach me many things I have sought to learn since I first confessed the Lord at 16 (I'm now 38). Here, I have experienced God working in my life, and have been in a constant struggle to do my part to remove the patterns of sin from my life, so that I can be with Jesus one day.
I'm no religion fanatic or anything. I believe in being authentic. I'm a forgiven, blood stained sinner who is trying his best to be who God wants me to be and trying to be where God wants me to be. I am no one's judge. I've loved hard and have been hurt, and I know what being the recipient of hatred, negativity, failure, condemnation, and rejection feels like. and if my life can be a light to anyone, then I want to help others shine for God's glory too.
I'm a poet and author, semi-single (separated) black father of a wonderful 11 year old son. I try to be positive and remember each day that my portion (godly set of gifts) and my cup (vessel) are sacred trusts to be managed well for God's glory. As the old creature, I did many things - none life-threatening thankfully. As a new creature, I am striving for the blessings and for ways to share it with others.
I consider myself a friend, though I'm a bit reserved at first. I will be helpful when and where I can. My goal is todo well in well-doing, be prosperous and wealthy, manage an insanely successful publishing and production organization, and to one day manage an organization that helps and mentally rehabs the homeless in America.
