women ARE special :o)
I had the most amazing revelation when i was reading yesterday morning ... and i just have to share it!!!
(Genesis 2:21-23)
And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam; and while he slept, He took one of his ribs or a part of his side and closed up the [place with] flesh.
And the rib or part of his side which the Lord God had taken from the man He built up and made into a woman, and He brought her to the man.
Then Adam said, This [creature] is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of a man.
as i read this i was struck by something. this part of the Bible used to really bother me; it felt like me (a woman/wife) was just an afterthought of sorts. not really worthy of being formed from the dirt, on my own, you know, the way darrell (adam/man) is. it feels like, here we've got all these ribs, well, we can spare one ... we'll just use that to make her with.
talk about lack of vision, and purpose for your life eh .... talk about not being needed or wanted or really that important or of any value .... just kind of an "add-on" ... ya know .... for convenience.
WELL !!! did God blow my mind .... rightoutofthewater.
the rib thing is symbolic. isn't that kewl. God was using something tangible to show us the intangible.
right of the hop, ribs are in PAIRS. isn't it kewl that God didn't use two of them to make women -- just ONE; He separated something, something that was supposed to be together ... that belonged together ... that fit together. is it possible that the physical (tangible) rib is to point to the intangible.
now, if you look at verse 23 ... "...she was taken OUT OF man..." what was "TAKEN OUT OF" man .... surely not just a rib ....
...man's completeness was removed. his finishing touches. his finale (if you will)
...wow!!! just think about that .... God > took..that..away..from..man > to put it into us.
>>>>>>>>>>we aren't an afterthought!!! ...
you ever wonder what it is about women that men love? (aside from the obvious) my husband says there's something in you (women) that draw us so powerfully and profoundly .... like a magnet .... we are drawn to the look of you, the smell of you, the feel of you.... that "thing" whatever that is, that makes you female .... it is too precious to even put a word to.
>>>>>>>>>>we are a magnet !!!
i must say it again ... WOW ... God took all that ... that "thing" whatever that hauntingly beautiful draw is ... would essence be a good way to describe it? ... He used that as the foundation for us ... not dirt.
the very words that satan used to twist my thinking, are the very words God used to straighten it out. if we are really THAT powerful, is it any wonder that God put husbands in the role of leader/head. seems like a perfect fit to me ... one has all the authority and one has all the power; in order for it to work, it must be a combined effort.
~~~we truly ARE special~~~don't ya think?
