I am the wife of a sex addict for 40 years. I have been suffering all these years because of his infidelities, but cannot imagine my life w/o him. He is my first boyfriend, we got married when I was only sixteen. After this last infidelity he promised to change for good, praying with me twice a day, reading the bible etc.., but I still can't trust me. I am at the point where most of the time depressed, these things just keep on playing over and over in my head, and most of the time in a bad mood. I do not want to loose my mind, plz help.

Hello Olivia :)

God bless you this day, and welcome to Christianity Oasis. I'm glad The Lord led you here.

(((hugs))) I'm sorry for the pain that both you and your husband have had to endure for all these 40 years. Addiction of any type, is difficult for all concerned.

You said that you are at a point that you cannot trust yourself due to the anger and depression. I understand how anger and depression can destroy a person. I encourage you to start reading a 14 Day Study...COOL Confidental Christian Counseling (CCCC) Study. It helps the "reader/participant" learn to go to The Lord and His blessed Word (The Bible) for guidance, for comfort and renewal, and the power to overcome. Here is the link to the study: http://www.christianityoasis.com/CCCC/Forum.htm

Olivia, The Lord God Almighty loves you, and your husband, so very much. Jesus died for all your sins, and in Him you will find the answers you seek.

Prayers are rising to our Lord in the name of Jesus on your behalf. God's blessed will be done.

God bless and keep you, Olivia.
In Christ Jesus' love,
Sister Mack

Adiction is something that people need help with but, I think it is more important for your relationship if your husband seeks help.
christianity is not a religion it is a lifestyle of having a relationship with Jesus

You may need help as well... It must be difficult to deal with an addict for 40yrs but the questions going through your head and all the doubt is the fact that you haven't let it go yet... Will it be instant? No but you need to relieve yourself of that burden that has grown heavier throughout the years... Cast your cares upon the Lord for He cares for you! It's going to harder before it gets better... seek marriage counseling with a pastor or a Christian counselor... one who will encourage you two to work things together for God's glory, not just for happiness
